Q3 Update on Our Strategy: Making Progress on the Seller Experience
By Seller Experience Team •

As always, feedback from our sellers continues to shape where we focus our efforts, from strengthening protections on untracked orders to providing more transparent status updates. We also expanded tools that simplify inventory management, strengthened our fulfillment solutions, and invested in buyer engagement to help you reach more customers.
Our strategic priorities continue to focus on efforts that enable us to be the most trusted TCG marketplace by connecting and empowering the global hobby community across buyers and sellers.

Buyer Engagement
We’re investing in promotions, partnerships, and marketplace improvements that bring more buyers to TCGplayer to connect them with your inventory.
- TCGplayer and Wizards of the Coast announced a first-of-its-kind competitive-play Magic: The Gathering charity tournament. The event takes place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 1pm ET. Fans can catch all the action via livestream across Magic’s Twitch Channel and Instagram, as well as TCGplayer’s YouTube Channel.
- In July, we launched new Decks & Event pages for Flesh and Blood and Pokémon. These pages feature tournament-winning deck lists and a Buy This Deck button, making it easier for buyers to purchase the cards they need. By highlighting cards from top-performing decks and simplifying the path to purchase, these pages help generate demand for relevant listings and create more opportunities for sellers.
- In August, we celebrated One Piece Day with enhanced merchandising and promotional placements across the Marketplace. By spotlighting popular singles, sealed products, competitive staples, we created more opportunities for sellers to capture demand.
- Starting next week, TCGplayer will display the GEM Store badge on verified local game stores that foster community through hosting sanctioned Flesh and Blood events. This badge will let buyers know they’re purchasing Flesh and Blood products from a trusted retailer, so that customers can shop confidently and you can stand out.
- To build excitement ahead of the September 25 release of Usurp the Shadow Throne, we’re partnering with Legend Story Studios on a promotion. Buyers who make a qualifying purchase of $100 or more across any products on TCGplayer (not only Flesh and Blood products) will receive one of three possible Usurp the Shadow Throne promo cards. By encouraging buyers to add more products to their carts, this promotion creates opportunities for sellers across categories to capture increased demand, including sellers who don’t carry Flesh and Blood inventory.
- In August, we announced full support for all currently available products for Palworld Official Card Game and Cyberpunk TCG. Sellers are now able to list their inventory for both Palworld Official Card Game and Cyberpunk TCG on the TCGplayer Marketplace.
International Expansion
We’re continuing to explore ways to connect sellers with more buyers beyond the United States without adding unnecessary complexity to their workflows. Through international package forwarding partners and in-person events, we’re building relationships in new markets and making it easier for international customers to shop seller inventory on TCGplayer.
- Our partners Buy&Ship and MyUS, help sellers reach international buyers while fulfilling orders through their existing U.S. shipping workflows. Sellers ship the order to a U.S. address, and the forwarding partner manages delivery to the buyer’s country. Buyers also work directly with the forwarder to resolve missing package issues, reducing fulfillment complexity for sellers.
- In July, we launched a campaign to highlight Canadian sellers and bring in local buyers.
- Buyers with locations outside of the United States will now see a USD label on applicable pricing to ensure transparency in the marketplace.
- This fall, TCGplayer will attend three Canadian card shows to connect directly with sellers, learn more about their needs, and drive Canadian buyer awareness:
- CSC: September 25 to September 27
- Vancity: October 2 to October 4
- Sport Card Expo Toronto: November 5 to November 8
Seller Experience
We’re expanding tools that reduce the time and manual work required to move cards from unorganized inventory to active listings. These improvements help sellers identify, price, list, and manage more inventory with greater speed and efficiency.
- Roca Sifters are beginning to arrive in customers’ hands, marking a major step forward in how sellers process high volumes of inventory. Roca Sifter can identify and sift up to 1,800 cards per hour into three output bins based on criteria such as price, foil, color, type, and rarity.
- All Level 4 sellers now have access to Scan & Identify to list faster, manage inventory more easily, and create a smoother selling experience on TCGplayer.
- Live Scan is now in open beta for all TCGplayer Pro sellers. The feature lets you scan card images directly into Scan & Identify without importing image files. Each scan matches to the TCGplayer Catalog within seconds, allowing you to review pricing, adjust the condition and printing, or correct the card match on the spot.
- We are working on improvements to our tracking capabilities for plain white envelopes to ensure all sellers have full visibility into their orders when shipping on TCGplayer.
- We have refreshed our Chatbot with a more personalized experience. The updated flows will be easier to navigate, helping sellers find answers faster. Over time, this customization will deliver a stronger seller experience through relevant, clear support.
Fulfillment Solutions
We’ll continue expanding fulfillment solutions that reduce operational work for sellers and make it easier to serve more buyers.
- We launched a TCGplayer Managed Inventory pilot with a select group of sellers. The program differs from our standard Direct program by allowing sellers to send any card to our Authentication Center at any time. TCGplayer then manages storage, order fulfillment, shipping, and customer support to give sellers more time to focus on their businesses while providing buyers with a consistent purchasing experience. We’ll use feedback from pilot participants to shape the program as we prepare to expand it. If you are interested in participating in the pilot or learning more, please sign up here.
- We’re continuing to evolve TCGplayer Direct into a more scalable and cost-efficient fulfillment solution. In August, we announced the expansion of our Louisville Authentication Center into a 145,000-square-foot facility. The expanded facility gives us more capacity to process inventory and fulfill orders as TCGplayer Direct grows, while Louisville’s central location and strong logistics network help us quickly reach buyers all over the world.
- Starting in October we plan to make Direct inventory available to more international buyers, allowing sellers to sell more beyond the U.S. with no added friction or changes in their Direct workflows.
Scalable Infrastructure
We know platform issues can disrupt your day-to-day operations. We’re taking steps to strengthen the systems behind TCGplayer while improving the speed and clarity of our communication when incidents occur.
- We launched the System Status page to give sellers one central place to find updates on active incidents, understand what we’re investigating, and follow our progress toward resolution. This page is a first step toward improving how we communicate during platform incidents, and we’ll continue building on it over time.
- Alongside this improvement, we’re working behind the scenes to continue to invest in capabilities that matter to your business. That includes significant investments in the underlying infrastructure that will help TCGplayer scale with the community and provide a stronger foundation for the experiences we deliver to sellers.
Trust
We know trust depends on how we support sellers when an order doesn’t go as planned. We’re acting on seller feedback by strengthening protections that reduce the financial impact of missing shipments and give sellers more confidence in their day-to-day operations.
- We expanded the TCGplayer Safeguard to cover qualifying untracked Marketplace orders for U.S. based sellers (including those in U.S. territories) with 1,000 or more lifetime orders. Plain white envelopes remain the most practical and affordable way to fulfill many low-value orders, and this update gives eligible sellers a path to recover the order value when a qualifying shipment does not reach the buyer. This policy represents an immediate step to better protect sellers today while we continue working toward improved tracking solutions for low-value orders.
- We’re investing in more robust seller verification, improved fraud prevention, and clearer policies backed by consistent enforcement to support a fair, reliable experience for customers. These initiatives help protect listing quality, minimize fraud-related disruption, and give both buyers and sellers greater confidence when transacting on TCGplayer.
It’s that time of year again, we will celebrate and support the sellers who help the hobby thrive. Applications are now open for Hobby Shop of the Year, which recognizes local game stores that create meaningful experiences for players and strengthen their communities. Ahead of the holidays, we will also send more than 600 Hobby Shop Support Kits to brick-and-mortar sellers at no cost, providing practical resources to support day-to-day operations. These programs give us another way to recognize the businesses and people who make the TCG community what it is.
