Magic: The Gathering Charity Tournament – TCGplayer vs Wizards of the Coast
By Kayla Zinn •
TCGplayer and Wizards of the Coast are excited to announce a first-of-its-kind competitive-play Magic: The Gathering charity tournament.
This special one-day event will gather some of the game’s most notable players alongside colleagues from both companies for a day of fierce competition and exclusive auctions. Both TCGplayer and Wizards of the Coast will contribute $25,000 to their respective, selected charity partners while all proceeds from the eBay Live auction will be split evenly between both charities.
TCGplayer’s charity of choice is MagiKids, who brings the TCG hobby to schools, libraries, and beyond, to help kids build friendships, confidence, and life skills. Wizards of the Coast’s charity of choice is Extra Life, who unites gamers to raise funds for Children’s Miracle Network.
The event takes place on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 10am PT / 1pm ET. Fans can catch all the action via livestream across Magic’s Twitch Channel and Instagram, as well as TCGplayer’s YouTube Channel, while participating in a simultaneous charity auction including unique, exclusive items hosted on eBay Live.
Throughout the event, there will be an interactive charity auction on eBay Live featuring exclusive collectibles, artist-signed memorabilia, and unique Magic items donated by Wizards of the Coast, TCGplayer, and eBay for fans to bid on.
We hope you’ll tune in, join the celebration, and help support MagiKids and Extra Life who help young people create memories by playing a beloved game in the TCG community. If you’d like to make a donation to MagiKids and Extra Life before the event or if you can’t participate in the eBay Live auction, you can find donation links for both charities where any amount helps towards this worthy cause.
