Top Selling Pokémon Cards on TCGplayer: May 2026

The first step to serving customer demand is to understand it. So to help you follow what’s currently popular with players and collectors, we’ve put together a pair of downloadable CSV reports of the top-selling Pokémon cards of the past month.

These reports show the name and set of the Pokémon cards with the highest total number of copies sold on the TCGplayer Marketplace between May 1 and 31, 2026. The reports consider cards from different sets to be distinct (even if they have the same name), but do not distinguish copies sold by condition (Near Mint, Lightly Played, etc.) or by printing (Foil, etc.).

The two reports cover cards that had an average sale price in May within two ranges: $50.00 or more, and $1.00 to $49.99.

Here are five highlights from each report.

Top Selling Pokémon Cards: $50 or More

#1 Mega Dragonite ex - 271/217
Set: Ascended Heroes
Average Sale Price: $61.48

This month, the top 5 cards over $50 are exactly the same as they were in April.

The slow drip of new Ascended Heroes products (and collectors’ relative disinterest in Perfect Order) has driven demand for the set’s top chase cards to new heights. So while cards like Mega Attack Rare Mega Eelektross ex and Mega Scrafty ex have stagnated or dropped with every Booster Bundle that gets opened, MAR Mega Dragonite ex and Mega Gengar ex have exploded in price, driven by collectors who’ve had their hearts broken ripping packs.

Now that MAR Mega Dragonite ex is over $50, it qualifies for this report. And given the Market Price of an ASC Booster Bundle, plenty of fans have been willing to skip the heartache and guarantee that they receive a card they like.

#2 Mega Gengar ex - 269/217
Set: Ascended Heroes
Average Sale Price: $89.80

Gengar cards have been making headlines for months, and they only got more attention once SIR Mega Gengar ex became the newest four-figure Pokémon card currently in print. It’s hard to tell what’s cause and what’s effect, but Gengar fever has spread to cards that wouldn’t normally be considered chases, like this Mega Attack Rare version of Mega Gengar ex.

#3 Psyduck - 226/217
Set: Ascended Heroes
Average Sale Price: $98.08

Psyduck’s Damp Ability shuts down the Abilities of Pokémon like Dusclops and Dusknoir, both of which have become even more common now that rotation has made Dragapult the best deck in format. This Illustration Rare is the highest-rarity version of Psyduck available, and it’s super cute to boot, so players and collectors alike have been seeking it out.

#4 Charmander - 044
Set: SV: Scarlet & Violet Promo Cards
Average Sale Price: $68.01

This promo card of Charmander staring daggers at the Pidgey outside its window completes a trio of cards with the Squirtle and Bulbasaur Illustration Rares in Stellar Crown.

Their recent growth could just be a natural effect of them aging—Gen I Pokémon do that—or it might be related to all three cards rotating out of Standard, and thus out of contention for any future reprints.

#5 Mew ex - 053
Set: Scarlet & Violet Promo Cards
Average Sale Price: $80.48

This promo card, originally distributed in the 151 Ultra-Premium Collection, was the target of buyouts throughout 2025. Sales have been relatively quiet in 2026, but all those earlier buyouts seem to have done their work: this card’s price has grown now that it’s rotated out of Standard.

Top Selling Pokémon Cards: $1.00 to $49.99

#1 Meowth ex - 062/088
Set: Perfect Order
Average Sale Price: $4.52

By far the most important playable from Perfect Order, Meowth will be a staple of competitive Pokémon as long as it remains legal in Standard. So far, it’s only been printed in one set, so the supply is fairly low.

#2 Hilda
Set: White Flare
Average Sale Price: $2.41

Another generically powerful Trainer card that hasn‘t been reprinted in many sets and is able to stay over $1. Players need playsets, so they sell quickly.

#3 Eevee
Set: Evolving Skies
Average Sale Price: $1.44

Sales of this Common temporarily exploded in May when the TCG community turned its attention to “cameo” cards featuring multiple Pokémon.

#4 Dunsparce
Set: Journey Together
Average Sale Price: $2.75

Standard Rotation took out many of the best draw engines in Standard, leaving Dudunsparce to fill the void with its Run Away Draw Ability. At the moment, this Dunsparce is the only pre-evolution of Dudunsparce with enough HP to survive a Phantom Dive, and unlike Dudunsparce, it’s never been reprinted.

#5 Mega Gengar ex
Set: Phantasmal Flames
Average Sale Price: $3.13

Gengar fever has also touched the Double Rare Mega Gengar ex from Phantasmal Flames. If there’s any way to make this card competitive, fans will find it. If not… they’ll probably still want it.
