Top Selling Magic: The Gathering Cards on TCGplayer: May 2026
By Emma Partlow •
The first step to serving customer demand is to understand it. So, to help you follow what’s currently popular with players and collectors, we’ve put together a pair of downloadable CSV reports of the top-selling Magic: The Gathering cards of the past month.
These reports show the name and set of the Magic cards with the highest total number of copies sold on the TCGplayer Marketplace between May 1 and 31, 2026. The reports consider cards from different sets to be distinct (even if they have the same name), but do not distinguish copies sold by condition (Near Mint, Lightly Played, etc.) or by printing (Foil, etc.).
The two reports cover cards that had an average sale price in May within two ranges: $50.00 or more, and $1.00 to $49.99.
Here are five highlights from each report.
Top Selling Magic Cards: $50 or More
#1 Badgermole Cub
Set: Avatar: The Last Airbender
Average Sale Price: $54.78
Bagermole Cub’s popularity goes from strength-to-strength, as it’s become the best-selling Magic card over $50 for the seventh month in a row.
And it’s easy to see why, as Badgermole Cub is often a strong follow-up to casting an Llanowar Elves in Standard Constructed. Mono-Green Landfall remains one of the top decks to play in Standard, and utilizes the full four copies of the Cub with consistent success. The card also plays nicely with various Fetch Lands, which has resulted in the card digging its way into Standard, Modern, and Commander since Avatar: The Last Airbender’s release last year.
#2 Force of Will
Set: Secrets of Strixhaven: Mystical Archive
Average Sale Price: $74.87
Force of Will remains one of the iconic countermagic cards printed in Magic, which has led to continued demand for the card in Secrets of Strixhaven: Mystical Archive. With Mystical Archive reprinting some of the game’s most powerful instant and sorcery spells, it’s created an opportunity for players to snap up these cards at a cheaper price.
While this particular copy of Force of Will isn’t the cheapest going at the time of writing (that goes to Dominaria Remastered’s Retro Frame printing), it is the most accessible since it was printed in a very recent Magic release. With the community-ran Premodern format going from strength-to-strength, players are snapping up their copies while they can.
#3 The Soul Stone
Set: Magic: The Gathering | Marvel’s Spider-Man
Average Sale Price: $78.59
Marvel Super Heroes globally releases on June 26, which means players are revisiting Marvel’s Spider-Man in preparation for the set release. Wizards of the Coast confirmed The Mind Stone will be in Marvel Super Heroes not too long ago, which has led to player and collector interest in owning the black Infinity Stone.
The Soul Stone is a must-have for black-based Commander decks, as it’s an indestructible mana artifact with a strong activated ability once harnessed. At the time of writing, The Soul Stone has a Market Price of $84 with interest not looking to dwindle anytime soon.
#4 Vampiric Tutor
Set: Secrets of Strixhaven: Mystical Archive
Average Sale Price: $62.55
Secrets of Strixhaven: Mystical Archive offers plenty for competitive Commander (cEDH) and high-bracket players, as Vampiric Tutor continues to be a top purchase since the set’s release. In a similar story to Force of Will, this printing of Vampiric Tutor has climbed up a bit since last month but remains accessible for players to acquire.
#5 Esper Sentinel
Set: Modern Horizons 2
Average Sale Price: $56.02
Often dubbed as the “white Rhystic Study”, interest around Modern Horizon 2’s Esper Sentinel has remained consistent with casual and competitive Commander players. It’s one of the best white creatures to play in higher-bracket games, as it offers card draw if the opponent can’t pay the tax whenever they cast their first noncreature spell.
Modern Horizons 2 released five years ago and there hasn’t been a meaningful reprint of Esper Sentinel since, which has led it to being one of the best-selling Magic cards over $50 throughout May.
Top Selling Magic Cards: $1.00 to $49.99
#1 Fabled Passage
Set: Commander: Secrets of Strixhaven
Average Sale Price: $1.01
Fabled Passage saw a reprint in the popular Commander: Secrets of Strixhaven release, and is currently the most affordable copy of the card at the time of writing. Fabled Passage shares plenty of casual and competitive overlap, with the card seeing incredible success in Standard’s Mono-Green Landfall alongside Badgermole Cub and company.
It’s also a very accessible Fetch Land for casual Commander players, making it a great option for more budget-focused decks.
#2 Sol Ring
Set: Commander: Secrets of Strixhaven
Average Sale Price: $1.17
The same applies to Sol Ring, which sees the Commander: Secrets of Strixhaven printing becoming a top purchase throughout May. Casual players can’t have enough copies of Sol Ring in their collection, with the recent printing being the most affordable non-Universes Beyond printing at the time of writing.
#3 Flow State
Set: Secrets of Strixhaven
Average Sale Price: $4.70
Flow State continues to see healthy purchases as it’s one of the breakout competitive cards from Secrets of Strixhaven. The card sees plenty of play in Standard and Modern Constructed in various blue-based spell decks, and competitive players will want to own multiple copies of this card for the foreseeable future.
#4 Stock Up
Set: Secrets of Strixhaven: Mystical Archive
Average Sale Price: $1.51
Since the reprint in Secrets of Strixhaven: Mystical Archive, players continue to stock up on copies of Stock Up for future play. Before the printing of Flow State, Stock Up was widely-regarded as the best card with this effect and still sees play in Standard and Modern today. The recent reprint has made the card more accessible and affordable than ever before, and players continue to heed that advice.
#5 Hare Apparent
Set: Foundations
Average Sale Price: $3.31
Any card that gives you the option to run as many copies as you wish are incredibly popular with players, so it’s no surprise to see Magic Foundations’ Hare Apparent remain a top purchase throughout May. The card remains an expensive “bulk” Magic card alongside Murders at Karlov Manor’s Slime Against Humanity, as Commander players can run north of three-dozen copies in a given deck.
Selling cards that have high “velocity” keeps your cash flow healthy so you can take advantage of new opportunities. Check out Seller content around Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon, and be sure to list these cards on TCGplayer to unlock value you can reinvest in your business.
