Continued Progress Against Our Strategy
The Road Ahead: Simplifying the Seller Experience

As year-end approaches, we appreciate being able to share our momentum with you. Staying true to our commitment to transparency, we’re excited to update you on the steps we’re taking to build a stronger, more scalable TCGplayer. Since our last update in September, we’ve made meaningful progress in our efforts to better connect and empower the global hobby community.

Our core purpose remains the same—to be the industry’s most trusted platform. We’re committed to helping our sellers thrive by providing the tools and insights you need to make confident, informed decisions that move your business forward.

Continued Progress Against Our Strategy in 2025
By executing against our strategy, we have driven tangible improvements in all five priority areas, directly targeting what sellers have told us matters most.

TCGplayer's Strategic Priorities

Expanding Buyer Reach and Engagement

  • We continue to deepen partner relationships to bring more value to our sellers and the community. Building on our long-standing relationship with Wizards of the Coast, we were honored to announce that TCGplayer has been named the preferred online marketplace for the Wizards Play Network (WPN)
    • This recognition helps buyers easily identify WPN-badged sellers as trusted, authorized retailers within our marketplace, giving customers added confidence when they shop.
    • We’re thrilled to share that over 1.2k sellers have adopted the badge so far, further reinforcing the trust and credibility that define our community.
    • With this partnership, Wizards of the Coast also offers exclusive content—including previews, interviews with game designers, and exclusive reveals for TCGplayer's community of players, collectors, enthusiasts, small businesses and local game stores, supporting the growth and engagement of the Magic: The Gathering community.
  • On average, sellers saw a 50% increase in sales during our 4-day 2025 Cyber Weekend promotion.
    • Magic: The Gathering led the way as the most popular product line, driven by the recent Avatar: The Last Airbender release. One Piece Card Game: Carrying On His Will ranked as the second best-selling set, while the One Piece Card Game overall was the third best-selling product line during the event.
  • Beyond major promotions like Cyber Weekend, we’ve continued to expand our marketing efforts to spark buyer interest and boost sales, while also growing the variety of games available on the Marketplace.
    • In November, we celebrated Godzilla Day by distributing exclusive promotional cards that inspired up to 7,500 customers to shop with sellers across the platform.
    • Throughout 2025, we’ve also added new games to the Marketplace, including Gundam Card Game, Godzilla Card Game, Hololive Card Game, and Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game, broadening opportunities for both buyers and sellers within the hobby community.

Enhancing the Selling Experience

  • In October, we announced the launch of batch management, a new Scan & Identify feature designed to help sellers organize and manage lists of inventory before they go live.
    • Batch management gives you full control over lists of inventory or “batches” that haven’t been added to live inventory.
    • With a dedicated batch queue, sellers can treat this space like a digital “staging area” for working inventory.
    • Sellers are able to process multiple batches simultaneously, dramatically reducing the time it takes to get their cards digitized while optimizing workflows.
  • Roca also hit a huge milestone: 1,000,000,000 trading cards were sorted through Roca! That’s one billion cards sorted, sifted, digitized, and made easier to manage for sellers around the world.
    • This milestone isn’t just a number –– it’s proof that automation and technology can make it easier for local game stores and online sellers to simplify their workflows and manage their inventory.
  • In December, we established partnerships with Buy&Ship and MyUS allowing sellers to access international markets seamlessly without altering their existing workflows.
    • Sellers will now reach more buyers in these international markets without any changes to their existing workflows or updating their shipping settings.
    • Our international package forwarding partners ensure seamless international delivery by allowing you to ship the order to a US address and then handling all international shipping, tariffs, and taxes for you.

Scaling Fulfillment Solutions

  • We’re actively streamlining workflows and building a new Warehouse Management System (WMS) at our Louisville, KY Authentication Center, laying the foundation to scale our operations and unlock even greater value for our sellers in the year ahead. Additional updates around Direct and our seller fulfillment solutions will be shared in early 2026.

Scalable Infrastructure

  • As our team continues to work behind the scenes to build the foundation needed to scale our programs and tools to support seller growth, we are keeping simplification at the forefront of our decisions.
    • Part of this work will be reflected in our 2026 plans that will be shared in Q1 and includes modernizing our fee system to be more transparent and aligned with how sellers actually manage their business.
    • We also continue to roll out improvements to the Mobile App focused on stability and performance, resolving key bugs and tightening the experience for high-volume sellers.
      • Compact Card View is now available in both Collections and during scanning, giving sellers a faster, cleaner way to browse and manage large lists.
      • Significant enhancements have been made to scanning performance, improving speed and accuracy while reducing battery usage and fixing long-standing reliability issues.

Building Trust and Supporting Your Growth

  • Our strategy remains rooted in uplifting the people who build this community. We are dedicated to celebrating and empowering our sellers through recognition and empowerment.
  • In September, we launched our second annual Hobby Shop Support Kit program as a way to give back and show appreciation for the incredible seller community that makes TCGplayer what it is.
    • Through this program, over 450 sellers received in-store tools and materials designed to help them fulfill orders more easily, enhance their local game stores, and engage and educate their buyer communities during the busy holiday season and beyond.
  • Continuing in that spirit of gratitude and community, we launched our second annual Hobby Shop of the Year program, which celebrates the heart of the hobby—the local game store. These shops bring people together, spark creativity, and keep communities thriving. We’re proud to recognize the sellers who dedicate themselves to creating welcoming, inspiring spaces for everyone.
    • Gamelandia, winner of the 2024 Hobby Shop of the Year, opted to give out 100 custom playmats during their sponsored game night in October.
    • Health Points, a 2024 finalist, raffled off 55 custom backpacks to their community and reported a “packed house” during their sponsored game night on Halloween.
    • As we continue this work, our growing team of experts remains dedicated to providing resources and personalized support to help sellers reach their full potential—both in-store and online.
    • We’re also expanding our community engagement team to continue to grow community-driven programs like Hobby Shop Support Kits, Seller Stories, Hobby Shop of the Year, and other initiatives designed to celebrate and empower sellers across the hobby space.

The Road Ahead: Simplifying the Seller Experience

  • We’re doubling down on important seller solutions including simpler fees, faster fulfillment, and access to buyers worldwide. Our investments will prioritize high-impact improvements and bring value to our seller community.
    • We’re enhancing the seller experience to unlock international scale through international package forwarding partnerships, strengthened risk controls across regions, and more integrated digitization to create a truly seamless selling experience.
    • A simple and clear fee structure remains a priority, especially in TCGplayer Direct, so sellers have predictable, transparent pricing whether they’re selling domestically or internationally.
