Continued Progress Against Our Strategy
The Road Ahead: Accelerating Work On our Seller Tools

We've been on a quest to transform TCGplayer into a more resilient and scalable platform, dedicated to connecting and empowering the hobby community. We're thrilled to share with you the latest developments in our strategic journey since our last update in June.

Our central goal remains unchanged: to support the needs of sellers by becoming the most trusted TCG platform in the industry. We are passionate about supporting and uplifting the hobby community, ensuring our sellers have the insights they need to make smart, informed decisions for their businesses.

Continued Progress Against Our Strategy in 2025
Over the past quarter, we have continued to execute our strategy by delivering tangible results that support sellers’ top needs across all five of our strategic priorities:

TCGplayer's Strategic Priorities

Expanding Buyer Reach and Engagement

  • On August 21, 2025 we announced a big TCGplayer Direct update: all of your Direct inventory is now available to buyers in Japan –– with no changes to your workflows, additional fees, or hassle.
    • This is just the beginning. As part of our mission to grow your business and expand Direct, we’ll add more countries and ramp up marketing to deliver more global buyers—without changing how you run your business. Stay tuned or check out the TCGplayer Direct FAQ for more information.
  • We continue to add new games and leverage diversified marketing tactics to drive buyer interest and increase sales on the Marketplace:
    • Added Gundam, Godzilla Card Game, Hololive Card Game to the Marketplace, and Riftbound ahead of the official launch this October.
    • Game-specific promos, targeted emails, optimized search, and targeted ads continue to deliver record-breaking sales on our platform.

Enhancing the Selling Experience

  • After carefully considering your valuable feedback on shipping size pricing, we recognize that the pricing limits no longer adequately accommodate a variety of situations. In response, we're thrilled to announce that we've raised the maximum pricing caps for package sizes:
    • Small from $4.99 to $19.99
    • Medium from $9.99 to $29.99
    • Large from $14.99 to $199.99
    • XL from $24.99 to $799.99
  • In July, we announced a new Roca feature called: Sort to Ship. This new sort feature allows for faster fulfillment, leverages automation to organize the orders, and eliminates manual sorting. Simply upload a CSV pull sheet and your Roca will automatically group cards by order number based on the pull sheet, ensuring accuracy across the board. Whether you’re fulfilling ten orders or hundreds, this feature streamlines the process by sorting each card into its correct order so you can pack faster and fulfill with confidence.

Scaling Fulfillment Solutions

  • Our efforts to expand and scale operations at the Louisville Authentication Center are progressing steadily. As of August 20th, we have successfully reinstated all Direct-eligible Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! sets and activated key Magic: The Gathering sets, including Double Masters and Zendikar Rising. This expansion has enabled us to refine and enhance numerous internal processes as we strive to boost speed, efficiency, and quality, ensuring a smoother experience for both buyers and sellers.

Building a Scalable Infrastructure

  • On August 5th, we re-platformed our mobile app enabling support for all TCGs on the Marketplace. This will enable us to continue making improvements to the experience. Based on seller feedback, we’re improving workflows, pricing, and scan accuracy to better support high-volume TCG sales. In the past three months, our team has made significant improvements, including:
    • Fixing list import errors and manual search issues
    • New tools to address workflow challenges
    • Introduced a persistent price point setting, which is now integrated into both Collections and Scan features.
    • Optimized camera functionality and enhancing scanning accuracy for a better user experience.
  • Moving forward, we plan to focus on compact views in Scan and Lists, support for scanning by set, and continued accuracy and instrumentation upgrades to ensure the app is optimized with seller workflows in mind.

Building Trust and Supporting Your Growth

  • In early September, we published clear guidelines on our seller feedback system in addition to how to escalate negative feedback that may be in violation of our Seller Feedback Policy. These new guidelines ensure our Customer Experience Team is handling feedback in a consistent and fair manner.
  • We remain committed to supporting our seller community through various programs that celebrate and reward their exceptional local contributions.
    • Hobby Shop of the Year, gives sellers the opportunity to be featured at large in the TCG community, with the chance to win a prize package that helps boost business and celebrates the community.
    • We plan to send over 400 Hobby Shop Support kits to Brick and Mortar stores ahead of the holidays. These kits will support sellers in essential day to day operations at no additional cost.
    • Sellers can sign up to be featured in our end of year video that celebrates seller stories and favorite moments from this year and gain more visibility in the community.
    • Our free Growth Acceleration Program, supporting seller growth, continues to level up thousands of sellers who show an average of 75% sales growth after completing the program.

The Road Ahead: Accelerating Work On our Seller Tools

We remain fully committed to investing in solutions that help our sellers succeed. We're focusing our resources on delivering high-impact improvements, giving sellers access to valuable tools and enhancements sooner.

Point of Sale and Inventory Management

  • We are accelerating the delivery of critical tools that solve everyday seller challenges, like modular inventory management, fraud and risk controls, more transparent fees for Direct, and more integrated digitization tools that enable a seamless selling experience.
  • As we continue the overarching modernization work, we will provide additional support for BinderPOS to address bugs and improve the current experience. We intend to start delivering improvements to core functionalities starting in Q4 of 2025.
  • Your input has truly guided where we’re focusing our energy, and we believe that over time these changes will make a meaningful difference in your experience.

Seller Registration Enhancements

  • We’re on a quest to continue building trust on the TCGplayer Marketplace, making enhancements to ensure our platform is safe and secure for both sellers and buyers.
  • To support this quest, we’ve rolled out a new seller registration process that requires more information from sellers upfront and is validated by our systems before they are able to sell on the platform – mitigating risk and fraud.
  • These enhancements aim to support legitimate sellers on TCGplayer, reduce risks, and ensure the integrity of listings on our platform – providing trust and a better, scalable experience for buyers and sellers.

Enhancements will be implemented with active input and feedback from an expanded Customer Advisory Board. This collaboration is crucial for ensuring our features meet sellers needs, fostering marketplace growth and elevating the selling experience.

We will update our Seller Blog next quarter with our final progress on our 2025 strategy going into the new year.
