Price Trends: Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards Climbing in Price - 9/9/2026

We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.

(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least ten sales between August 9 and September 7, 2026.)

Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $10 or less.

Top 5 Price Increases—YGO Cards $10 or Less

#5 Ancient Chant

• Set: Maze of Millennia
• Increase: +$6.88
• Current Market Price: $15.92

In mid-August, Konami revealed that the October 2026 OCG set would be Immortal Phoenix, themed around Marik Ishtar and the Winged Dragon of Ra archetype. As soon as the news broke, sales of Ancient Chant spiked as players sought the cards they’d need to play Ra once the set made its way to the TCG.

#4 Darklord Tezcatlipoca

• Set: Destiny Soldiers
• Increase: +$7.08
• Current Market Price: $13.43

This card has only been printed once, as a Secret Rare in 2016, so it’s especially sensitive to changes in demand. Those changes came in August when Darklord decks started cropping up at Genesys tournaments, helped by the Darklord support in February’s Burst Protocol.

#3 Small World (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

• Set: 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection
• Increase: +$7.43
• Current Market Price: $13.07

Small World banishes two cards from your deck face-down, and has served niche roles in many archetypes since it was first printed in 2021. But on August 10, players bought out the QCSR version of the card in anticipation of the just-announced Xenovader archetype, which is built entirely around banishing cards face-down to power other effects.

#2 Magician's Rod

• Set: The Dark Illusion
• Increase: +$8.29
• Current Market Price: $15.73

Magnificent Monsters has been a resounding success in many ways, not the least of which is that it managed to turn Dark Magician into a top-tier archetype. Yu-Gi-Oh! players are beyond excited to play with the new support cards like Dark Magical Curtain, so copies of the must-run searcher Magician’s Rod have been flying off shelves.

#1 Number 7: Lucky Straight

• Set: Galactic Overlord
• Increase: +$8.85
• Current Market Price: $17.91

Xenovader wasn’t the only new archetype announced on August 10. Also coming in Glorious Victors is Raise Moon, an archetype themed around gambling full of Level 7 monsters. Both of those quirks reminded players of the dice-rolling Rank 7 monster Number 7: Lucky Straight, so players started buying copies in the hopes that it’ll have synergy with the new cards.

Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $10.

#5 Dark Magician (Ghost Rare)

• Set: Ghosts From the Past
• Increase: +$34.28
• Current Market Price: $608.64

This card was among the most valuable Dark Magicians on TCGplayer right up until this past weekend, when it was pushed down a slot by the Starlight Rare version Dark Magician, the Pharaoh’s Servant from the new Magnificent Monsters set.

But all publicity is good publicity. The frenzy this set has created around Dark Magician cards with both players and collectors has helped push Ghost Rare Dark Magician above $600 for the first time in 2026.

#4 Elemental HERO Stratos (UTR)

• Set: OTS Tournament Pack 9
• Increase: +$35.41
• Current Market Price: $181.16

This card’s Market Price is only now catching up to the burst of sales it experienced in the beginning of 2026 thanks to the HERO support cards from Maze of Muertos and Blazing Dominion.

#3 Dark Magician of Destruction

• Set: Maze of Muertos
• Increase: +$36.83
• Current Market Price: $97.92

Sales of Dark Magician of Destruction haven’t spiked in the past month, but they’ve remained consistent despite waning supply and spiking prices thanks to players’ enthusiasm for playing Dark Magician decks with the release of Magnificent Monsters.

#2 Dominus Impulse

• Set: Battles of Legend: Glorious Gallery
• Increase: +$37.17
• Current Market Price: $127.94

Similarly, Dominus Impulse hasn’t sold particularly more copies this month than last month. But we’re running low on extended-art copies, and buyers keep ordering them anyway to play in everything from Dark Magician to Maliss.

#1 Dark Armed Dragon (UTR)

• Set: Turbo Pack: Booster Six
• Increase: +$53.04
• Current Market Price: $658.25

Last month we mentioned that TCGplayer was down to a single Near Mint listing for this 15-year-old card, at $1,000. That copy has now sold, and there are no more Near Mint listings on the site.
