Price Trends: Pokémon Cards Dropping in Price - 07/29/2026

We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Pokémon cards that have dramatically decreased in Market Price in the past 30 days. We hope this report will complement our report on Pokémon price increases to give you a more well-rounded view of the market.
(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least ten sales between June 28 and July 27, 2026.)
Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that lost the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $50 or less.
Top 5 Price Decreases—PKMN Cards $50 or Less
- Set: Chaos Rising
- Decrease: -$9.98
- Current Market Price: $29.23
The explosion in Pokémon card prices over the first half of 2026 appears to have finally run up against the fact that so many of today’s top chase cards are still being printed. As a result, many of the weaker or most heavily hyped cards from the past six months have begun to drop as supply finally overtakes demand.
AZ’s Tranquility is one example. This card means the most to fans who played through all of Pokémon X and Y and Pokémon Legends: Z-A: a narrow Venn diagram of the fandom.

- Current Market Price: $33.94
Another Chaos Rising card, SIR Mega Floette ex is the least desirable of Chaos Rising’s four Special Illustration Rare Pokémon ex. It wasn’t able to sustain the $40+ price tag it held throughout June, and has now stabilized at just over $30.

- Decrease: -$10.33
- Current Market Price: $35.04
The least popular of the four “Staff” versions of the Phantasmal Flames prerelease promos, Zacian is still well above the $20 it was going for in December, but well below the $50+ it cost at its peak in April. The other Phantasmal Flames Staff promos of Flygon and Ceruledge have begun to drop as well, though Toxtricity has rebounded and is holding at around $40.

The top cards from the First Partner Series Collection sets have all dropped in recent weeks as more supply has entered the market. Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle have fallen to the $30-$40 range from the $40-$50 range they held at their peaks, and Totodile (the next most valuable card in the collection) has seen its price cut in half in the past month.

This competitive play promo was awarded to participants at Pokémon TCG Regionals held in 2026, so the supply has naturally risen as more of those events have been held over the course of the season.
Next, these are the five cards that lost the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $50.
Top 5 Price Decreases—PKMN Cards Over $50
- Set: Ascended Heroes
- Decrease: -$59.97
- Current Market Price: $390.44
Even the most popular chase cards from the past six months have dropped in price recently as more supply has entered the market, making it harder for speculators to cash out. That includes this Pikachu ex from Ascended Heroes.
(Not to be confused with Treekachu, which appears further down this list.)
#4 Mega Charizard X ex - 125/094
- Set: Phantasmal Flames
- Decrease: -$94.51
- Current Market Price: $785.31
The ultimate chase card of Phantasmal Flames continues to fluctuate wildly. In the last month, sales have ranged from $500 to nearly $1000 for Near Mint copies, with current listings right in the middle at the $750 mark.
#3 Mega Charizard Y ex - 294/217
- Set: Ascended Heroes
- Decrease: -$107.59
- Current Market Price: $506.61
The Mega Hyper Rare Charizard from Ascended Heroes took a huge dive in July as its low sales numbers couldn’t keep up with the increase in supply. At time of writing, there are listings as low as $428, so we may not have found this card’s floor yet.

- Decrease: -$123.58
- Current Market Price: $1,161.13
“Treekachu” became the breakout star of Ascended Heroes when it rose from $600 to nearly $1200 in the span of a month. Now it’s spent a month retracing from its peak of $1,400, and even days of major sales—like July 26, when one buyer picked up nine copies at once—have been enough to change its trajectory.

The other big hero of Ascended Heroes, Mega Gengar ex has been forced to drop in price as sales have dried up.
