TCGplayer Announces Record-Breaking Black Friday and Cyber Monday Weekend Sales

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – TCGplayer, the leading online technology platform for the hobby collectibles industry, today announced record-breaking sales for the four-day shopping period encompassing Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The Company sold more than 1.2 million items on the marketplace during the weekend. The gross merchandise value (GMV) for the record-breaking Black Friday sale more than doubled over the same period, driven in part by the Company’s fulfillment program, Direct by TCGplayer, which facilitated the shipping of 160,000 items during the weekend sale, and experienced a 40 percent year-over-year increase in total orders shipped on Black Friday.
TCGplayer customers shopped at record levels across a wide variety of products, including Magic: The Gathering Commander Legends sealed products, Pokémon Vivid Voltage sealed products, and Magic: The Gathering Legacy singles. Among the best selling products were Magic: The Gathering’s Mana Drain card, Yu-Gi-Oh!’s Infinite Impermanence card and Pokémon’s Charizard card.

- Over 6,000 Sellers received a sale on Black Friday, a nearly 2x increase compared to 2019 sales.
