Top Selling Sealed Product Right Now — 11/05/2024

Choosing which sealed products to invest in is an important decision for your business. The right products can yield big returns for your business in just a few transactions, but the wrong products can be a serious burden on your cash flow.

To help you pick the right products more often, we compiled a report of the top selling sealed products on TCGplayer last month. This report will show you which sets are most popular with players and collectors right now, so you can anticipate which products will be easy to sell online.

The report lists the top 100 sealed TCG products by total GMV between October 1 and 31, 2024. Below, we’ve highlighted five of those products. These products were chosen by starting from the top of the overall list and going down, taking the top product of each game that hadn’t been highlighted yet. The five products are ordered below according to their overall rank in the full report.

#1 Surging Sparks Booster Box

Game: Pokémon TCG.
Set: Surging Sparks.
Released: November 8, 2024.
Average Product Value: $125.77.

Surging Sparks kicks off this month’s trend of presales for November sets outselling October sets. Thanks to Twilight Masquerade’s $300+ chase card and Stellar Crown’s well-received introduction of Stellar Pokémon to the TCG, Pokémon’s recent releases have managed to turn around fans’ perception of the Scarlet & Violet Series. More importantly, Surging Sparks features the first high-rarity Pikachu card since Vivid Voltage in the Sword & Shield Series. We haven’t seen a Pikachu-focused Pokémon set release in the post-pandemic-boom era, so there’s no telling exactly how popular it will be, but for now the vibes are charged and positive.

#2 Foundations Collector Booster Display

Game: Magic: The Gathering.
Set: Foundations.
Released: November 15, 2024.
Average Product Value: $208.68.

Foundations joins Surging Sparks as another presale set doing incredible numbers. To be fair, many of those sales came from a single day: October 25, when a seller listed hundreds of Foundations Collector and Play Booster Displays at a discount from Market Price for a Treasure Trove deal. Special deals aside, Foundations is a unique set. Wizards of the Coast is billing it as the ultimate introductory Magic set—a kind of super-Core Set—and has already announced that it will remain legal for Standard for at least five years, with the option to keep it legal indefinitely. Players brought in by Universes Beyond products will finally have a clear answer for what to buy next if they want to continue their MTG journey, and given the power level of the cards we’ve seen so far, they won’t be disappointed by what they find.

In a year of huge Magic releases, Foundations could end up being the most important of them all.

#3 Awakening of the New Era Booster Box

Game: One Piece Card Game.
Set: Awakening of the New Era.
Released: December 8, 2023
Average Product Value: $172.69.

Prices of Awakening of the New Era Booster Boxes took a huge dive around early July when Bandai reprinted the set, but they’ve crept up in the months since and are holding steady around $170. Nearly a year after its release, the set still contains two cards with Market Prices over $1,000, including the most expensive One Piece card ever printed, so the sustained demand makes sense.

#4 Rage of the Abyss Booster Box [1st Edition]

Game: Yu-Gi-Oh!
Set: Rage of the Abyss.
Released: October 11, 2024.
Market Price (October 7): $78.20

Rage of the Abyss ranks a little low here for a set that released this month, but you shouldn’t underestimate its impact. The set revitalized several popular archetypes, introduced a new $130+ competitive staple that every player is going to want going forward, and generally led to an exceptionally diverse meta at YCS Niagara Falls. Sales for this set made October one of Yu-Gi-Oh’s best months of 2024 so far.

#5 Arthurian Legends Booster Box

Game: Sorcery: Contested Realm.
Set: Arthurian Legends
Released: October 4, 2024.
Average Product Value: $117.86

October saw the release of the second set (in as many years) for Sorcery: Contested Realm. The successful launch of Arthurian Legends proves that publisher Erik’s Curiosa is able to follow through with the unique release cadence they’ve set for themselves, and fans have responded enthusiastically. This was the best month on record for Sorcery sales on TCGplayer, and it’ll be exciting to see if Sorcery can continue to blaze its own trail through the TCG industry.
