Top Selling Pokémon Sets Right Now – 08/13/2025

Deciding how much capital to invest in each new TCG set is one of the hardest decisions that comes with running a game store. We want to make that decision easier, so we’ve compiled a report of the bestselling Pokémon sets this month. This report will show you which Pokémon sets are still in high demand months or years after their release, so you can better anticipate what the demand will be for upcoming sets.

The report lists the top 100 Pokémon TCG sets, ranked by the total GMV of all sales (sealed and singles) on the TCGplayer Marketplace between July 12 and August 10, 2025. As a quick preview, here are the ten sets at the very top of the list:

Top 10 Bestselling Pokémon Sets

Except where noted otherwise, you can assume that the bestselling sealed product for each of these sets was its Booster Box, and its bestselling cards were more or less identical to its most expensive cards.

#10 Journey Together

Released: March 28, 2025.

Interest in Journey Together has dropped off much faster than it did for the Pokémon sets on either side of it chronologically. That’s largely down to the relative weakness of the set itself, with its more small size leading to generous pull rates and its “Trainer’s Pokémon” theme failing to ignite the same zeal as either “Eeveelutions” (Prismatic Evolutions, which came before it) or “Team Rocket” (Destined Rivals, which came after it).

#9 Paldean Fates

Released: January 26, 2024.

It’s no surprise that Paldean Fates is still popular given its ludicrously huge list of cards to collect and the community’s affection for its top Special Illustration Rares, especially “Bubble Mew.”

#8 Scarlet & Violet Promo Cards
Released: March 31, 2023 - Present

Promo cards from sealed products sold remarkably well this month, possibly due to the high prices of Scarlet & Violet products in general and the popularity of Illustration Rare-style cards. The bestsellers this month were:

#7 Evolving Skies

Released: August 27, 2021.

With two blockbuster themes in one release (Eeveelutions and Dragon-types), plus the holy grail of modern Pokémon cards (“Moonbreon”), Evolving Skies remains the bestselling set of the Sword and Shield Series and one of the biggest Pokémon sets of the 2020s.

#6 Miscellaneous Cards & Products

Released: December 1998 - Present.

The “Miscellaneous Cards & Products” set contains a wide range of items from across the history of the Pokémon TCG that don’t belong anywhere else, so it tends to rank on breadth of sales alone. This month the top-selling items by GMV included the Blooming Waters Premium Collection and the always popular Ancient Mew card handed out to theatergoers who came to Pokémon: The Movie 2000. The stamped version of N’s Reshiram from the Journey Together Enhanced Booster Box also sold at high volume, with an average of almost 4.5 copies per buyer.

#5 White Flare
Released: July 18, 2025.

The Reshiram half of the Black Bolt/White Flare split set release. These two sets successfully recaptured much of the magic of Scarlet & Violet—151 by allowing fans to collect every Gen V Pokémon at once.

Speaking of 151….

#4 Scarlet & Violet—151

Released: September 22, 2023.

151 will likely go down as the best Pokémon set of the decade. Putting every single Gen I Pokémon (and only Gen I Pokémon) in the same set is a gimmick so obvious it’s kind of brilliant, and The Pokémon Company has already started trying to replicate 151’s success.

#3 Prismatic Evolutions

Released: January 17, 2025.

Prismatic Evolutions surpassed all expectations for a Pokémon set not named “151,” driving record-high sales and record-high singles prices. Those prices have cooled significantly, but they’ve got a long way to go before they can be considerede affordable.

#2 Black Bolt
Released: July 18, 2025.

The Zekrom half of the Black Bolt/White Flare split set release. Black Bolt sold slightly better than White Flare, possibly due to having a Seismitoad card illustrated by Shinji Kanda. Many of Kanda’s other full-art cards like Magikarp have gone on to be worth hundreds of dollars.

#1 Destined Rivals

Released: May 30, 2025.

Destined Rivals managed to hold on to the #1 spot due to Black Bolt and White Flare splitting fans’ attention between them.
