Top Selling Pokémon Sets Right Now – 05/19/2026
By Peter Day •
Deciding how much capital to invest in each new TCG set is one of the hardest decisions that comes with running a game store. We want to make that decision easier, so we’ve compiled a report of the bestselling Pokémon sets this month. This report will show you which Pokémon sets are still in high demand months or years after their release, so you can better anticipate what the demand will be for upcoming sets.
The report lists the top 100 Pokémon TCG sets, ranked by the total GMV of all sales (sealed and singles) on the TCGplayer Marketplace between April 18 and May 17, 2026. As a quick preview, here are the ten sets at the very top of the list:
Top 10 Bestselling Pokémon Sets
Except where noted otherwise, you can assume that the bestselling cards for each set were more or less identical to its most expensive cards.
#10 Mega Evolution Promo
Released: September 26, 2025 - Present
This set is composed of all the “MEP” promo cards for the ongoing Mega Evolution Series. Since no sealed products are categorized under this set, a ton of MEP singles have to move for this set to outperform a normal expansion like Surging Sparks in terms of GMV—which is exactly what happened this month.
Leading the way were the promo cards from the First Partner Illustration Collection Series 1, particularly Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle, as well as the Mega Attack Rare-style promos for Mega Charizard X ex and Mega Lucario ex. Both of these groups of promos belong to a larger collection of cards with related artwork, so the drive to complete those collections has boosted their popularity.
#9 Mega Evolution
Released: September 26, 2025.
Like the base sets of many Pokémon TCG Series before it, Mega Evolution dropped off of fans’ radars quickly once other expansions in the Series were released. While it’s still holding on at 9th place, it’s been overshadowed by Phantasmal Flames, Ascended Heroes, Perfect Order, and Chaos Rising.
#8 Chaos Rising
Released: May 22, 2026
Chaos Rising won’t release until later this week, but presales for Booster Boxes and ETBs over the last 30 days were strong enough to put the set in 8th place.
#7 Destined Rivals
Released: May 30, 2025.
All the Team Rocket cards in Destined Rivals allow the set to target Gen I nostalgia in a way that feels fresh, even so soon after the release of 151. In a normal year, this could have been the biggest set of 2025.
#6 Phantasmal Flames
Released: November 14, 2025.
Phantasmal Flames has dropped a bit since Ascended Heroes has completely overshadowed it as everyone’s favorite set from the Mega Evolution Series.
#5 Miscellaneous Cards & Products
Released: December 1998 - Present.
The “Miscellaneous Cards & Products” set contains a wide range of items from across the history of the Pokémon TCG that don’t belong anywhere else, so it tends to rank on breadth of sales alone.
This month the top-selling items by GMV once again included the Mega Charizard X ex Ultra Premium Collection, the hottest Pokémon product of the 2025 holiday season. The Pokémon Day 2026 Collection and the Charizard ex Premium Collection have also been selling well.
Ancient Mew topped the list of bestselling singles for this period, followed by the Pokémon Day 2026 Pikachu, both of which are likely drawing interest due to the 30th anniversary celebrations.
#4 Perfect Order
Released: March 27, 2026
Despite being the most recent Pokémon set, Perfect Order only reached 4th place this month as collectors ignored it to dump shocking amounts of money on the most popular Special Sets of the 2020s.
#3 Scarlet & Violet—151
Released: September 22, 2023.
151 will likely go down as the best Pokémon set of the decade. Putting every single Gen I Pokémon (and only Gen I Pokémon) in the same set is a gimmick so obvious it’s kind of brilliant, and The Pokémon Company has already started trying to replicate 151’s success with Black Bolt and White Flare. So far, they haven’t managed to top it.
151 returned to the forefront of the conversation in the past few months as the set rotated out of Standard. This reassured collectors that the set would never be reprinted, and prompted spikes across all the set’s most popular singles. Fans poured money into 151 Booster Bundles, which climbed to over $200 each (that’s $33+ per pack).
#2 Prismatic Evolutions
Released: January 17, 2025.
Sales of the Prismatic Evolutions Super-Premium Collection pushed Prismatic Evolutions into second place this month. It appears that a wave of reprints entered the market starting in late April, and on May 7, fans responded to the price drops with a massive buyout. May 7, 2026 was the biggest sales day PRE SPCs have ever had, even bigger than when they released in May 2025, and the average number of boxes per buyer that day rose to 23.3.
#1 Ascended Heroes
Released: January 30, 2026*.
Only two Ascended Heroes products were available on January 30, with the rest (including Elite Trainer Boxes, the “default” product for a Special Set like this) postponed to February 20 or later. Booster Bundles finally released on April 24, and that product’s sales led the way for Ascended Heroes to take first place this month. The Pokémon TCG market has been white hot the past couple of months, and with Perfect Order and Chaos Rising looking relatively tame, collectors have been focusing all their attention on Ascended Heroes and other special sets.
