Top Selling Magic: The Gathering Sets Right Now – 12/10/2025
By Peter Day •
Deciding how much capital to invest in each new TCG set is one of the hardest decisions that comes with running a game store. We want to make that decision easier, so we’ve compiled a report of the bestselling Magic: The Gathering sets this month. This report will show you which Magic sets are still in high demand months or years after their release, so you can better anticipate what the demand will be for upcoming sets.
The report lists the top 100 Magic: The Gathering sets, ranked by the total GMV of all sales (sealed and singles) on the TCGplayer Marketplace between November 8 and December 7, 2025. As a quick preview, here are the ten sets at the very top of the list:
Top 10 Bestselling Magic: The Gathering Sets
#10 Commander Masters
Released: August 4, 2023.
Commander Masters has ranked well once again thanks to the enduring popularity of the Commander format. The set contains reprints of over 400 format staples, and most of those reprints are now the cheapest printings of their respective cards. If Wizards of the Coast ever reprints those cards again, we can expect the current interest in Commander Masters to transfer to the new set.
#9 Commander: FINAL FANTASY
Released: June 13, 2025.
FINAL FANTASY was the bestselling Magic: The Gathering set of all time before it even released. Sets don’t achieve that level of success without serious buy-in from collectors and speculators, and those buyers are still purchasing products from FINAL FANTASY’s Commander subset where they can.
Most of those sales are still for Deck Displays and Collector’s Edition Deck Displays, which are down to “just” $150 and $510 respectively, though Borderless Surge Foil versions of popular characters like Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER, Y’shtola, Night’s Blessed, Yuna, Grand Summoner, Tifa, Martial Artist, and Tidus, Yuna’s Guardian (with the roman numeral backgrounds) are all putting up impressive numbers. Chocobo Track Foil Snapcaster Mage from the FINAL FANTASY Holiday Release has recently joined them.
#8 Modern Horizons 3
Released: June 14, 2024.
Modern Horizons 3 completely redefined the format when it released last year. Several rounds of bans later, it’s still the only source of many of the most-played cards in Modern like Ocelot Pride and Sink into Stupor, as well as the most affordable copies of the enemy fetch lands, and Commander staples like Ashling, Flame Dancer and Warren Soultrader.
Until these cards get reprinted, expect MH3 to continue ranking among the top 10 bestselling Magic sets.
#7 Secret Lair Countdown Kit
Released: November 3, 2025.
Billed as “An Encyclopedia of Magic,” the Secret Lair Countdown Kit (think “Advent Calendar” with 26 days to match the letters of the alphabet) sold out almost immediately on the Secret Lair website. That left fans with no options besides the secondary market to pick up these wide-ranging reprints.
The full kit itself was the bestselling product from the set this month in terms of total GMV, but Urza’s Saga, Phyrexian Altar, and Field of the Dead put up big numbers too just by being relatively affordable reprints of already expensive playables.
#6 Edge of Eternities
Released: August 1, 2025.
Edge of Eternities has predictably fallen since its release in August, but it’s still well ahead of other non-Universes Beyond sets from 2025 like Tarkir: Dragonstorm and Aetherdrift. As usual, Play and Collector Booster Displays are responsible for the most GMV. Top-selling singles include Tezzeret, Cruel Captain, Icetill Explorer, and Quantum Riddler, all of which are instant Commander staples.
#5 Marvel’s Spider-Man
Released: September 26, 2025.
Marvel’s Spider-Man was a critical flop in the opinion of many Magic: The Gathering players, but that hasn’t stopped Collector Booster Displays from selling through to collectors and speculators who’re hoping to beat the odds and pull The Soul Stone, or its four and five-figure variants.
#4 Avatar: The Last Airbender: Eternal-Legal
Released: November 21, 2025.
There aren’t any sealed products specific to this subset, so its ranking here is entirely due to the popularity of its singles—which should give you a sense of how much demand they’re in. Most of those top singles are snazzy reprints of Commander staples like The Great Henge, Deflecting Swat, Force of Negation, and Teferi’s Protection, but new commanders Toph, Earthbending Master, The Cabbage Merchant, and Katara, Waterbending Master are keeping pace.
#3 FINAL FANTASY
Released: June 13, 2025.
As we covered above, FINAL FANTASY sales have outstripped anything we’ve ever seen from a Magic: The Gathering set. The Chocobo Bundle has replaced Play and Collector Booster Displays as the lead product in terms of GMV, while Commander powerhouses Vivi Ornitier and Buster Sword top the bestselling singles.
#2 Secret Lair Drop Series
Released: December 2, 2019 - Present.
Like Special Guests, the list of Secret Lair cards grows longer with each passing year, so we can expect at least some of them to sell well every month.
Right now, the top-selling Secret Lair products are the Secret Lair x Ghost of Tsushima and Secret Lair x Iron Maiden: Eddie Unchained boxes, with Kratos, God of War and Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima topping the bestselling singles.
#1 Avatar: The Last Airbender
Released: November 21, 2025.
Runaways sales of sealed Collector and Play Boxes have pushed ATLA firmly into the top spot. Unlike the negative reception to Spider-Man, Magic and ATLA fans seem universally high on Avatar: The Last Airbender, which (at least anecdotally) has activated scores of new and returning MTG fans with its IP.
While playables like Badgermole Cub have made a good showing, by far the bestselling products from the set are the booster boxes themselves. Fans are just eager to play and collect Avatar.
