Top Selling Magic: The Gathering Cards on TCGplayer: September 2025
By Peter Day •
The first step to serving customer demand is to understand it. So to help you follow what’s currently popular with players and collectors, we’ve put together a pair of downloadable CSV reports of the top-selling Magic: The Gathering cards of the past month.
These reports show the name and set of the Magic cards with the highest total number of copies sold on the TCGplayer Marketplace between September 1 and 31, 2025. The reports consider cards from different sets to be distinct (even if they have the same name), but do not distinguish copies sold by condition (Near Mint, Lightly Played, etc.) or by printing (Foil, etc.).
The two reports cover cards that had an average sale price in September within two ranges: $50.00 or more, and $1.00 to $49.99.
Here are five highlights from each report.
Top Selling Magic Cards: $50 or More
#1 The Soul Stone
Set: Marvel's Spider-Man
Average Sale Price: $72.25
The Soul Stone outsold all the other Magic cards in this price bracket by a significant margin (making it the exception among cards from Marvel’s Spider-Man). In Commander, The Soul Stone is an efficient, indestructible mana rock that offers recurring value once you harness it—a no-brainer for almost any black deck.
The other Infinity Stones are expected to make their cardboard debuts in later Marvel sets like Marvel Super Heroes, likely along with some payoff for assembling them all, so any players with the means to do so are picking up their copies of The Soul Stone now while it’s relatively inexpensive.
#2 The One Ring (Borderless) (LTR Bundle)
Set: Unique and Miscellaneous Promos
Average Sale Price: $70.93
This version of The One Ring is currently the most affordable on the market, so it’s also the fastest selling. With FINAL FANTASY no longer dominating the market, The One Ring has resumed the position it deserves in this report as one of the most overpowered Magic cards ever printed.
#3 Tezzeret, Cruel Captain (Borderless)
Set: Edge of Eternities
Average Sale Price: $54.06
With zero color restrictions and three abilities that support the second-most played type of Commander deck, Tezzeret, Cruel Captain has become one of the most popular Commander cards from Edge of Eternities. Oh, and he’s good in Tron too. No surprise that people want the card of the guy whose face is on all the boxes.
#4 Ancient Tomb (0001) (Borderless)
Set: Edge of Eternities: Stellar Sights
Average Sale Price: $91.65
This reprint from the Stellar Sights subset immediately became the most affordable version of Ancient Tomb on the Marketplace, so players are picking it up while they can.
#5 Sheoldred, the Apocalypse
Set: Dominaria United
Average Sale Price: $65.82
Sheoldred has rotated out of Standard, but it still pops up all over Pioneer and Commander. Expect Sheoldred to remain near the top of the bestsellers list in this price bracket until it gets a reprint.
Top Selling Magic Cards: $1.00 to $49.99
#1 Hare Apparent
Set: Foundations
Average Sale Price: $2.97
Cards like Hare Apparent allow (and encourage) players to play way more than the standard four copies in their decks, so anyone who wants to build around it needs tons of copies. That naturally pushes these cards to the top of bestseller lists.
#2 Sol Ring
Set: Commander: The Lost Caverns of Ixalan
Average Sale Price: $1.20
Sol Ring always ranks among the bestselling cards in Magic, thanks to being a symbol of the game’s most popular format, but those sales are usually spread out among its many (many) reprints. This version of Sol Ring had one of the lowest Market Prices in September, which helped it show up in more players’ carts when they used Cart Optimizer.
#3 Mountain (0265) (Borderless)
Set: Edge of Eternities
Average Sale Price: $1.74
Adam Paquette’s sci-fi full-art basic lands from Edge of Eternities have been a huge hit, joining the Theros Beyond Death lands and the Unstable lands as some of the best-selling basics in Magic.
#4 Forest (0266) (Borderless)
Set: Edge of Eternities
Average Sale Price: $1.10
Paquette’s Forest ranks for the same reason as Paquette’s Mountain…
#5 Swamp (0264) (Borderless)
Set: Edge of Eternities
Average Sale Price: $1.45
…and so does Paquette’s Swamp.
