TCGplayer is excited to support MagiKids, a non-profit that provides children with access to Magic: The Gathering by giving cards to teachers and mentors to teach the game. This mission is close to TCGplayer’s heart, so we wanted to get involved to help make a positive impact –– at the end of last year, we donated 1.2 million cards to MagiKids, and we’re excited to donate another 700,000 cards this month in celebration of Earth Day.
At TCGplayer, we believe that tabletop gaming should be accessible for everyone. That’s why it’s important for us to support organizations that are focused on educating children and providing access to TCGs, especially at no cost. TCGplayer also believes that trading card games should be about passion, not pollution. In the TCG industry, millions of cards ultimately end up in landfills, but we believe there’s a better way –– one that respects both hobbyists and the planet. This is one of many reasons why we’re donating to MagiKids.
If you’re interested in getting involved in the MagiKids mission, you can either:
- Donate –– MagiKids accepts Magic: The Gathering card donations via mail or in-person, and also takes one-time or repeating tax-deductible donations.
- Become a Partner –– through running a fundraising event in your store, donating product, or letting people know about MagiKids, there are many ways that your business or organization can support.
- Become a MagiKids Teacher –– you can apply to run a MagiKids group and teach the next generation.
- Volunteer –– consider signing up for a volunteer opportunity to spread the magic to more kids across North America.
