Webinar and Support

We’ve heard your feedback: the current Shipping Replacement Cost (SRC) model for TCGplayer Direct makes it difficult to understand fees and confidently evaluate profitability.

Starting June 18, 2026, we will be simplifying the TCGplayer Direct fee structure for Reimbursement Invoices (RIs) and Store Your Products (SYP) by eliminating SRCs and implementing a new item-based fee structure. This will give you a clearer, more predictable way to understand your fees so you can make pricing decisions with more confidence. Based on our analysis of year-to-date Direct seller performance, over 95% of Direct sellers are expected to see lower fees under this new structure. *These fees are designed to better align with the cost to fulfill each card, making them more predictable while benefiting the majority of sellers.

Moving to a per-item fee structure delivers:

  • Increased predictability so you can better estimate fees at the item level.
  • Simplified fee calculations by removing complex order level components.
  • Improved transparency by aligning fees more closely with how inventory is processed and fulfilled.

Complex per order fees --> Simple and predictable per item fees

What’s Changing

  1. Per-Item Fee Structure: We’re moving from the current Shipping Replacement Cost (SRC) order tier model to a per-item fee structure for TCGplayer Direct Reimbursement Invoices (RIs) and Store Your Products (SYP).
    1. Cards with a sale price of $2.49 and below will have a 50% fee.
    2. Cards with a sale price above $2.49 will have a flat $1.12 fee. Total fees will include the per-item fee and standard marketplace fees (e.g., commission fee, transaction fee).
  2. $0.30 Transaction Fee Removal: The $0.30 transaction fee will be removed from all TCGplayer Direct orders.
    1. The 2.5% transaction fee will continue to be charged on each sale.

What This Means For You
This change simplifies how fees are calculated by applying a consistent fee at the item level, rather than calculating fees based on the order level, so you can better predict profitability on individual cards. For over 95% of sellers, this means lower fees in common scenarios, especially for higher-value items. *Sellers with high-quantity, lower-priced orders may see more impact, but small adjustments can help you benefit from this change.

To get the most out of this change and evaluate how it may impact your workflow, we recommend reviewing your overall business performance and recent activity:

  • Evaluate your overall performance and strategy:
    • Review your sales volume, profit, and total costs (sourcing, listing, fulfillment) to understand pricing and profitability under the new more transparent structure.
  • Assess your inventory mix and pricing:
    • Evaluate your sell-through rate, assortment depth, and how different price points (e.g. higher vs. lower value items) contribute to your margins.
  • Analyze your recent activity:
    • Use the Seller Portal reports to analyze previous RIs, identify trends, patterns, and areas to optimize.
