Price Trends: Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards Climbing in Price - 05/28/2025

We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.

(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least five sales between April 22 and May 21, 2025.)

Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $10 or less.

Top 5 Price Increases—YGO Cards $10 or Less

#5 D/D Swirl Slime (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: Quarter Century Stampede
  • Increase: +$12.84
  • Current Market Price: $16.71

This Quarter Century Secret Rare version of D/D Swirl Slime just released in April and quickly spiked well above the $2 Market Price it had settled into by May 1. That’s largely due to the scarcity and popularity of all QCSR cards, but it helps that the D/D archetype is about to get new support in the June set Battles of Legend: Monster Mayhem.

#4 Stake your Soul!

  • Set: 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Mirrors
  • Increase: +$14.11
  • Current Market Price: $22.05

The Vanquish Soul archetype will be getting new support in the July 2025 set Duelist's Advance, so players are buying up this key Spell card for the archetype ahead of time. The biggest burst in sales actually occurred in late March, when the new support was revealed, but it took a few weeks for low-cost listings to dry up and the Market Price to rise.

#3 Stake your Soul!

  • Set: Wild Survivors
  • Increase: +$14.46
  • Current Market Price: $22.75

Like the 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Mirrors version of Stake your Soul!, the Wild Survivors version saw a huge spike in sales in late March that translated to a rising Market Price in April and May.

#2 Vanquish Soul Razen

  • Set: Wild Survivors
  • Increase: +$20.54
  • Current Market Price: $29.12

Vanquish Soul Razen is another essential searcher for the Vanquish Soul archetype that players will want to own a playset of before the new VS cards arrive in Duelist's Advance in July.

#1 Vanquish Soul Razen

  • Set: 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Mirrors
  • Increase: +$20.85
  • Current Market Price: $28.89

Vanquish Soul Razen has been printed in the same sets and with the same rarities as Stake Your Soul!, so the Market Price of its three versions have followed the same trajectory after it was revealed that new Vanquish Soul support was coming in Duelist’s Advance.

Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $10.

Top 5 Price Increases—YGO Cards Over $10

#5 Mulcharmy Purulia (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: The Infinite Forbidden
  • Increase: +$58.98
  • Current Market Price: $239.54

Each version of Mulcharmy Purulia rose in April through May, though of course the extra-rare QCSR version started the highest and had the most room to grow in terms of total value. Copies of Mulcharmy Purulia dropped significantly in price during the lead-up to Purulia’s reprints in Maze of the Master, but Purulia appears to have been harder to pull from MoM than sellers anticipated, because it rebounded just a month after the set dropped.

#4 Vanquish Soul Jiaolong (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: Age of Overlord
  • Increase: +$79.58
  • Current Market Price: $121.10

Four Vanquish Soul cards have a Quarter Century Secret Rare printing, of which Vanquish Soul Jiaolong is currently the most valuable—likely because it’s also the oldest, having been released with Age of Overlord in 2023. The QCSR versions of Dr. Mad Love, Caesar Valius, and Pantera have all risen in the past month, and may spike further as Quarter Century Stampede becomes harder to find.

#3 Live Twin Ki-sikil Frost (Starlight Rare)

  • Set: Lightning Overdrive
  • Increase: +$82.78
  • Current Market Price: $244.50

This card’s sudden rise had more to do with low supply than with high demand. The last English Near Mint copy available for under $250 sold on May 2, and no listings have come to replace them below this price point. The result has been exactly what you’d expect.

#2 Dominus Impulse (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: Rage of the Abyss
  • Increase: +$85.18
  • Current Market Price: $274.92

Both this QCSR version and the Secret Rare version of Dominus Impulse have risen in value since April, mirroring the price trend of the Rage of the Abyss Booster Boxes they’re found in. Rage of the Abyss simply contains too many powerful cards for boxes to stay affordable six months after the set’s release. Dominus Impulse is one of those powerful cards driving up RotA’s price, as a generic hand trap that can go in Dark, Fire, and Water decks with no downside.

#1 Dark Magician (Ghost Rare)

  • Set: Ghosts From the Past
  • Increase: +$96.77
  • Current Market Price: $607.40

Ghost Rare Dark Magician is one of the most valuable printings of this iconic card in Yu-Gi-Oh history, and doesn’t sell very often. So when a Near Mint 1st Edition copy sold on May 12 for $999.95—the first sale of a copy with that condition and printing since March—that one sale was enough to redefine the card’s Market Price.
