Price Trends: Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards Climbing in Price - 04/29/2025
By Peter Day •
We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.
(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least five sales between March 26 and April 24, 2025.)
Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $10 or less.
Top 5 Price Increases—YGO Cards $10 or Less
- Set: Mystic Fighters
- Increase: +$12.55
- Current Market Price: $13.48
Along with many other changes in the explosive April 6 Forbidden & Limited List update, Konami unbanned Mathmech Circular for the first time since 2023. This naturally raised the value of all the Matchmech cards, but especially of Mathmech Superfactorial, which has only been printed a single time (at Secret Rare, in the 2019 set Mystic Fighters).
#4 Pre-Preparation of Rites (Quarter Century Secret Rare)
- Set: 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection
- Increase: +$19.74
- Current Market Price: $27.58
On March 29 a leak in a Master Duel update revealed over 40 cards coming to Yu-Gi-Oh in the next 12 months. Among them were several new cards for the Mitsurugi archetype, which is built around Level 8 Ritual Monsters. Since Pre-Preparation of Rites makes all Ritual decks better, players reacted by buying playsets of the card, and the Quarter Century Secret Rare version was in too short supply to absorb the burst in demand.
#3 Mementoal Tecuhtlica - Combined Creation
- Set: Valiant Smashers
- Increase: +$24.47
- Current Market Price: $27.94
Pascal Manigat managed to win YCS Houston the weekend that the new F&L update went into effect using an unexpected Memento deck, and in doing so, proved that Memento was the new deck to beat in the format. As the boss monster of the archetype, Mementoal Tecuhtlica - Combined Creation has gained the most from this shocking victory. The card has only been printed in one set (2023’s Valiant Smashers), so even the base Ultra Rare version has been scarce enough to hold value.
- Set: The Infinite Forbidden
- Increase: +$31.23
- Current Market Price: $35.60
For a long time, Fiendsmith Engraver was the most expensive card in the highly competitive Fiendsmith archetype. That changed once it was revealed that it would be reprinted in Quarter Century Stampede, and fans (and speculators) who had been priced out of the deck before started buying the other Fiendsmith staples knowing they’d be able to afford Engraver in the near future. One of those staples was Fiendsmith Requiem, which wasn’t reprinted, meaning the Secret Rare version from The Infinite Forbidden is still the least expensive version available—it’s just not nearly as affordable as it used to be. And with Fiendsmith continuing to put up results like the two Top 8 decks at YCS Houston, it probably won’t be for a while.
- Set: Rage of the Abyss
- Increase: +$34.85
- Current Market Price: $43.13
Lacrima the Crimson Tears is in the same boat as Fiendsmith’s Requiem, being a Secret Rare card that wasn’t reprinted in Quarter Century Stampede. Now that Fiendsmith Engraver has been reprinted, Lacrima and Requiem have absorbed the value it once held, along with another card we’ll get to in a moment.
Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $10.

#5 Mitsurugi Ritual (Quarter Century Secret Rare)
- Set: Supreme Darkness
- Increase: +$45.16
- Current Market Price: $116.11
Sales of both versions of Mitsurugi Ritual spiked hard after the leak on March 29 revealed that more Mitsurugi cards were on the way, but the QCSR version has the highest ceiling. After the listings at the $70 mark were cleared out, the card had nowhere to go but up.
- Set: The Infinite Forbidden
- Increase: +$58.26
- Current Market Price: $72.92
Fiendsmith’s Tract is the third major Fiendsmith card that has benefitted from Fiendsmith Engraver being reprinted. The Engraver’s fall from a $100 card at the start of the year to a $1 today has turned this Secret Rare into the biggest choke point for fans who want to buy into the archetype, and more than tripled its price in less than a month.
#3 WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils (Quarter Century Secret Rare)
- Set: Age of Overlord
- Increase: +$59.51
- Current Market Price: $154.12
A small handful of sales on April 11 wiped out the remaining listings of this card for under $190, which sent its price spiking. At time of writing, there are no listings for under $200, and I expect the Market Price will keep adjusting up as more sales come through.
#2 Fiendsmith's Tract (Quarter Century Secret Rare)
- Set: The Infinite Forbidden
- Increase: +$63.17
- Current Market Price: $123.50
Just like the Secret Rare version, the QCSR version of Fiendsmith’s Tract has exploded in price as a result of not being reprinted alongside Fiendsmith Engraver in Quarter Century Stampede.
#1 Live Twin Ki-sikil Frost (Starlight Rare)
- Set: Lightning Overdrive
- Increase: +$66.45
- Current Market Price: $161.72
Like QCSR WANTED: Seeker of Sinful Spoils, this card’s sudden rise had more to do with low supply than with high demand. The last English Near Mint copy available for under $200 sold on April 17, and no listings have come to replace them. The result has been exactly what you’d expect.
