Price Trends: Pokémon Cards Climbing in Price - 10/07/2026
By Peter Day •
We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Pokémon cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.
(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least ten sales between September 5 and October 4, 2026.)
Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $50 or less.
Top 5 Price Increases—PKMN Cards $50 or Less
#5 Primarina - 020/084 (What's Your Favorite Stamp)
- Set: Miscellaneous Cards & Products
- Increase: +$14.64
- Current Market Price: $23.81
The four “What’s Your Favorite?”-stamped Pokémon promo cards currently in circulation were distributed as purchase rewards from major retailers in 2026 to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Pokémon franchise. Three of them, including Primarina, were distributed with Pitch Black in July.
They’ve all gone up since October 2. Part of that’s simply due to how quickly the demand for Pokémon promos eats through supply these days, but it also helps that a Mewtwo “What’s Your Favorite?” promo became available that day, at the same time as the 30th Celebration Booster Bundle at major retailers. Mewtwo raised the visibility of the other three promos with this stamp, and they all became popular by association.
#4 Armarouge (What's Your Favorite Stamp)
- Set: Miscellaneous Cards & Products
- Increase: +$17.01
- Current Market Price: $42.01
This Armarouge promo was distributed at the same time as the Primarina above, and rose for the same reasons.
- Set: Black and White Promos
- Increase: +$20.99
- Current Market Price: $28.34
This promo, originally distributed in the Zoroark Illusions Collection box, has been on a slow but steady incline for years. The collector boxes themselves are in high demand because they contain one pack from Call of Legends, an unique set which sat between the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series and the Black & White Series and featured art not found in Japanese sets.
In September, all the Near Mint listings of Zoroark for under $20 on TCGplayer finally sold out. That sparked a small flurry of buying as fans raced to pick up the few remaining copies that were listed under $100. At time of writing, the lowest listed Zoroark is $120.
#2 Tyranitar
- Set: Mysterious Treasures
- Increase: +$25.94
- Current Market Price: $65.76
This spike doesn’t appear to have been motivated by anything other than the general state of the market. After all the Near Mint Tyranitar listings under $60 sold out in mid September, a small group of fans bought out the remaining NM copies. Today there’s only a single NM copy left on the marketplace.
#1 Garchomp
- Set: Supreme Victors
- Increase: +$51.11
- Current Market Price: $97.03
On October 2, somebody bought the last four Near Mint copies of Garchomp on TCGplayer, which sent its price predictably up.
Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $50.
Top 5 Price Increases—PKMN Cards Over $50
#5 Darkrai (Team Plasma) - BW73
- Set: Black and White Promos
- Increase: +$45.38
- Current Market Price: $279.37
The last Near Mint copy of this promo card on TCGplayer sold on September 24 for $474.97, so its true Market Price is likely higher than what’s recorded here.
- Set: Double Crisis
- Increase: +$56.39
- Current Market Price: $576.61
This card and its Groudon counterpart have been trending up for years. With full-art alt-art cards becoming the gold standard for Pokémon chase cards since the Scarlet & Violet Series, fans have reevaluated these and other pre-2020s cards that fit that mold and weren’t appreciated in their time.
#3 Slowking
- Set: Southern Islands
- Increase: +$62.25
- Current Market Price: $349.08
Slowking and many of the other Southern Islands cards have also been on a slow but steady upward trend as part of the general trend in interest around connected art cards. As one of the earliest examples of those kinds of cards, there wasn’t much supply of Southern Islands cards to begin with.
- Set: WoTC Promo
- Increase: +$71.50
- Current Market Price: $248.26
Another along-rising vintage card. This Pikachu got a slight bump in notoriety thanks to Ken Sugimori’s most recent redraw in 30th Celebration of his Jungle Pikachu which this card shares its art with.
#1 Gengar & Mimikyu GX (Secret)
- Set: SM - Team Up
- Increase: +$73.29
- Current Market Price: $546.23
Pre-2020s Gengar cards have been trending up so consistently for so long it’s more surprising when one of them doesn’t make our Price Trends list.
