Price Trends: Pokémon Cards Dropping in Price - 10/13/2026

We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Pokémon cards that have dramatically decreased in Market Price in the past 30 days. We hope this report will complement our report on Pokémon price increases to give you a more well-rounded view of the market.

(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least ten sales between September 7 and October 6, 2026.)

Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that lost the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $60 or less.

Top 5 Price Decreases—PKMN Cards $60 or Less

#5 Mega Eelektross ex - 278/217

  • Set: Ascended Heroes
  • Decrease: -$14.05
  • Current Market Price: $24.44

Around July 2026, after months of wild price appreciation, modern Pokémon singles began to retrace their steps as the waves of reprints finally caught up with the demand. That trend continued in September.

Of those modern sets, few have declined as much as Ascended Heroes. At the beginning of 2026, fans were calling it the greatest Pokémon set of all time for its large set size and all-star lineup of Pokémon, plus its two four-figure chase cards in Pikachu ex and Mega Gengar ex. But the staggered release of Ascended Heroes throughout the year has slowly eroded the value of both those chase cards, and with them, the value of all the set’s other hits as well.

Which brings us to Mega Eelektross ex. This was never anyone’s favorite Special Illustration Rare to open in Ascended Heroes, but with more sealed around and less interest from buyers in singles, Mega Eelektross ex’s price has dropped dramatically.

#4 Mega Zeraora ex - 114/084

  • Set: Pitch Black
  • Decrease: -$15.69
  • Current Market Price: $59.09

Pitch Black released right as the market for modern cards tipped over, and its singles have dropped consistently for months. At time of writing, the lowest listing for this card is $37, so there may be further to go.

#3 Mega Diancie ex - 282/217

  • Set: Ascended Heroes
  • Decrease: -$16.33
  • Current Market Price: $42.86

Another mid-tier Ascended Heroes hit. Mega Diancie ex has been trending down since June, but it took a dramatic downturn in September. Whatever interest the market has left in modern singles is being entirely consumed by 30th Celebration—and it still hasn’t been enough to keep that set’s singles stable, much less any other set’s.

#2 Mega Zygarde ex - 120/088

  • Set: Perfect Order
  • Decrease: -$16.38
  • Current Market Price: $42.41

As with Mega Diancie ex, September was particularly hard on Mega Zygarde ex.

#1 Mega Gengar ex - 269/217

  • Set: Ascended Heroes
  • Decrease: -$19.62
  • Current Market Price: $35.88

…And for Mega Attack Rare Gengar, too. Ascended Heroes products have arrived just in time for everyone to be distracted by 30th Celebration.

Next, these are the five cards that lost the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $60.

Top 5 Price Decreases—PKMN Cards Over $60

#5 Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat

  • Set: SV: Scarlet & Violet Promo Cards
  • Decrease: -$69.01
  • Current Market Price: $695.71

In 2026, this promo doubled from $500 to over $1000 by August. September was the first month it saw any significant drops all year, even though supply has remained constant throughout that time.

It speaks to sellers’ apprehension around the modern Pokémon market that they seem to be lowering their prices to lock in gains on what had been seen as a blue chip collectible.

#4 Umbreon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret)

  • Set: Evolving Skies
  • Decrease: -$82.84
  • Current Market Price: $2,285.50

Speaking of blue chips, Moonbreon has seen significant turbulence all year. The last two sales, two days apart, have almost $400 difference between them, suggesting that the market can’t decide how to evaluate Modern chase cards that aren’t in danger of reprints, but do belong to the current era of Pokémon’s expanded printing capacity.

#3 Mega Dragonite ex - 290/217

  • Set: Ascended Heroes
  • Decrease: -$101.40
  • Current Market Price: $506.15

This card’s price graph tells the entire story of Ascended Heroes. From $500 at the start of February, up to $875 in June, down to $450 today.

#2 Pikachu ex - 276/217

  • Set: Ascended Heroes
  • Decrease: -$110.87
  • Current Market Price: $877.35

“Treekachu” was at one point the most valuable card in Ascended Heroes, but that hasn’t stopped it from suffering the same fate as the rest of the set.

#1 Umbreon ex - 161/131

  • Set: Prismatic Evolutions
  • Decrease: -$119.04
  • Current Market Price: $1,323.45

A wave of Prismatic Evolutions reprints arrived in September along with the Ascended Heroes reprints, dropping PRE ETBs to their lowest point since February, and “Sunbreon” with them.
