Price Trends: Magic: The Gathering Cards Climbing in Price - 05/19/2026

We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Magic: The Gathering cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.

(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least ten sales between April 15 and May 14, 2026.)

Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $50 or less.

Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards $50 or Less

#5 Tainted Pact (JP Alternate Art)

  • Set: Strixhaven: Mystical Archive
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$19.01
  • Current Market Price: $65.91

Alongside the latest set, Secrets of Strixhaven, we got another batch of Mystical Archive cards, which are much-needed reprints with gorgeous new art. Tainted Pact is a bit of a machine in Commander, and this being perhaps the most-striking artwork on it accounts for the 40.53% increase.

#4 Dark Ritual (JP Alternate Art) (Foil Etched)

  • Set: Strixhaven: Mystical Archive
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$19.28
  • Current Market Price: $67.90

The new Secrets of Strixhaven set, and specifically the new wave of Mystical Archive reprints, seems to have led to a spike of this one too. Dark Ritual is a must-have for many Commander players, and as this art is especially good, it’s only natural that players would try and get their hands on it. It saw a very respectable 39.65% increase in the last month.

#3 Brilliant Wings (Borderless)

  • Set: Commander: FINAL FANTASY
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$23.01
  • Current Market Price: $41.46

Brilliant Wings is an entirely unique card with gorgeous artwork from the Final Fantasy Scene Boxes. This two-mana aura protects pretty much any creature of your choice, and as it’s not only a good card, but one of a kind too, it’s only natural it’d see some spikes here and there. This time around, the 124.72% increase is likely linked to the Silverquill Commander deck from Secrets of Strixhaven, as it focuses on cheap aura cards.

#2 Goblin Recruiter (Rainbow Foil)

  • Set: Secret Lair Drop Series
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$23.79
  • Current Market Price: $67.76

With a hefty 54.11% increase, Goblins appear to be back on the menu, especially if they have an Adventure Time vibe to their artwork. Goblin Recruiter is likely seeing a big spike due to the Goblin Storm Commander deck, and while it only launched recently, the hype around it has been building up for weeks.

#1 Goblin Lackey (1311) (Rainbow Foil)

  • Set: Secret Lair Drop Series
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$25.86
  • Current Market Price: $70.23

This deeply whimsical take on Goblin Lackey is seeing a surge of interest and price, undoubtedly also due to the recently released Goblin Storm Commander deck. Goblins are always popular in the format, and this card saw an impressive 58.28% increase on its starting price, and could continue to climb as more people seek to deck out their goblins.

Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $10.

Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards Over $50

#5 Shiva - Subtlety (Rainbow Foil)

  • Set: Secret Lair Drops Series
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$136.23
  • Current Market Price: $613.60

Our first heavy-hitter this month is Shiva, a reprint of Subtlety, but with a Final Fantasy skin. It’s not a huge shock to see anything with Final Fantasy gaining value as time goes on, and we’re expecting that to continue for as long as Magic sticks around at this point. This card saw an impressive 28.54% increase over the last month.

#4 Smothering Tithe (Anime Borderless) (Confetti Foil)

  • Set: Wilds of Eldraine: Enchanting Tales
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$137.67
  • Current Market Price: $927.99

Smothering Tithe is widely considered one of the best white Commander cards around, allowing players to benefit just by having other players in the game. This version has what looks like an anime villainess bullying someone, which is almost too on the nose for how other players feel, especially if they sold it before the 17.43% increase.

#3 Rhystic Study (Anime Borderless ) (Confetti Foil)

  • Set: Wilds of Eldraine: Enchanting Tales
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$155.11
  • Current Market Price: $1,065.70

Despite being a card that’s perpetually in the center of a cyclone of Commander ire, Rhystic Study is still a powerhouse card. This particular printing is one of the prettiest by far, with players still coveting the anime printings of many cards. This version is incredibly playable and sought after, as reflected by the 17.03$ increase.

#2 Lotus Petal

  • Set: Masterpiece Series: Kaladesh
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$174.64
  • Current Market Price: $701.50

The Masterpiece Series remains an exceptionally good value proposition for anyone lucky enough to have one. Lotus Petal has seen a substantial 33.15% increase, marking it out as the biggest winner of the limited-series, if not the most expensive one overall.

#1 Intuition

  • Set: Judge Promos
  • Printing: Foil
  • Increase: +$334.02
  • Current Market Price: $1,452.79

The same trend has affected Intuition. The last Near Mint copy of this Reserved List promo card on TCGplayer sold on April 19 for $1,699.99.
