Price Trends: Magic: The Gathering Cards Climbing in Price - 04/15/2025

We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Magic: The Gathering cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.

(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least five sales between March 15, 2024 and April 13, 2025.)

Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $5 or less.

Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards $5 or Less

#5 The Master, Multiplied

  • Set: Universes Beyond: Doctor Who
  • Increase: +$16.49
  • Current Market Price: $17.09

This month, most of the biggest gainers come courtesy of the Merc with a Mouth. On April 1, Wizards of the Coast surprised fans with a Secret Lair Drop featuring the mechanically unique Deadpool, Trading Card. It sold out in a day, and everyone who secured a copy of the drop started looking for other cards they could play while doing a Ryan Reynolds impression.

It turns out one of the best cards to play alongside Deadpool is another Universes Beyond card. If you steal The Master, Multiplied’s text box with Deadpool and then attack, you get to create new copies of Deadpool with his original text box—letting you steal three text boxes from your opponents. Those Deadpool copies also stick around after they attack, and you can keep making more Deadpool copies every turn to steal abilities and leave your opponents with creatures that damage them every upkeep.

Because The Master, Multiplied was only printed in one set (where you could either find it in a $50 Commander precon or in $20-$30 Collector packs), the supply for this card has always been low. Now, demand has risen high enough to make that an issue.

#4 Tree of Perdition

  • Set: Innistrad Remastered
  • Increase: +$17.24
  • Current Market Price: $20.83

Tree of Perdition is the only non-Deadpool-related card in this bracket this month. The new Abzan Armor preconstructed Commander deck in Tarkir: Dragonstorm rewards you for having creatures with high toughness, and Tree of Perdition’s toughness can be as high as any player’s life total if you untap with it. That makes it a perfect payoff for either Felothar the Steadfast or Betor, Ancestor’s Voice, the deck’s two potential commanders.

#3 Mirror Gallery

  • Set: The List Reprints
  • Increase: +$19.03
  • Current Market Price: $23.56

Like The Master, Multiplied, Mirror Gallery makes it possible to copy Deadpool, Trading Card without having to sacrifice those copies, letting you steal all the text boxes you want. You just need a third card to do the actual work of copying—which is why Mirage Phalanx and Orthion, Hero of Lavabrink have spiked since the start of the month as well.

#2 The Master, Multiplied (Extended Art)

  • Set: Universes Beyond: Doctor Who
  • Increase: +$21.24
  • Current Market Price: $23.16

As the base version goes, so goes the Extended Art version…

#1 The Master, Multiplied (Showcase)

  • Set: Universes Beyond: Doctor Who
  • Increase: +$21.29
  • Current Market Price: $22.40

…and the Showcase version. All three versions (and each of their Surge Foil prints) have grown 300% or more in the past two weeks.

Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $5.

Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards Over $5

#5 Tiamat (Borderless)

  • Set: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms
  • Increase: +$38.98
  • Current Market Price: $59.59

Players’ interest in dragons understandably peaked last Friday with the release of Tarkir: Dragonstorm. While Tiamat’s price has slid a bit from the high it reached during the new set’s preview season, it’s still a solid $35+ above where it was at the beginning of March.

#4 Sauron, the Dark Lord (Borderless Poster)

  • Set: Universes Beyond: The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth
  • Increase: +$43.41
  • Current Market Price: $217.20

All of the Borderless Poster cards from Tales of Middle-earth have been on a steady climb all year, now that the biggest Magic set in history is no longer in print. At time of writing, there are no Near Mint copies on the marketplace for less than $420.

#3 Sol Ring - Dwarven (0409)

  • Set: Commander: The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth
  • Increase: +$43.65
  • Current Market Price: $381.92

Alongside the Poster Cards, the Rings of Power-inspired Sol Ring cards have also grown steadily. We’ve covered Elven Sol Ring in previous months, but Dwarven Sol Ring has ambitions too—at time of writing, the cheapest copy of the marketplace is listed for $394.00.

#2 Encore Electromancer - Snapcaster Mage

  • Set: Secret Lair Drop Series
  • Increase: +$51.17
  • Current Market Price: $830.63

The market continues to struggle to put a price on Encore Electromancer. Part of the trouble is that nobody knows for sure how rare it is—some small percentage of Miku Secret Lair drops contain a copy of this card (or its Rainbow Foil version) as a random bonus to go along with the other cards in the box.

In the period of time covered by this report, the lowest price a Near Mint copy of this card sold for was $1,000.25. Expect its Market Price to keep correcting slowly but surely toward a more accurate reflection of its value.

#1 The One Ring (Borderless Poster)

  • Set: Universes Beyond: The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth
  • Increase: +$88.64
  • Current Market Price: $465.83

Another Borderless Poster card, another Market Price that hasn’t quite caught up with the market. At time of writing, the cheapest Near Mint copy of this card on the market is listed for $485.00, and the last sale for $555.55. You don’t need a Palantir to see more growth in this card’s future.
