Price Trends: Magic: The Gathering Cards Climbing in Price - 03/24/2026
By Peter Day •
We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Magic: The Gathering cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.
(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least ten sales between February 21 and March 22, 2026.)
Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $20 or less.
Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards $20 or Less
- Set: Apocalypse
- Increase: +$15.80
- Current Market Price: $33.54
February and March saw higher than average sales for the original printing of Yavimaya Coast with its old-school border. The card has been reprinted over a dozen times, with most copies going for under $1, so this doesn’t look like the work of speculators. Instead, it appears that more players are buying playsets of the classic border version to use in Premodern, which has been in the conversation among entrenched Magic players this year after it was added to MTG Online in December 2025.
The format remains fringe, but if it becomes as well-established as something like Pauper, we may see more movement on the Reserved List cards that actually see play in it like Phyrexian Dreadnaught and Gaea’s Cradle, as well as staples for more budget decks like Pyroblast in Burn.
- Set: Dragon's Maze
- Printing: Foil
- Increase: +$16.90
- Current Market Price: $34.77
The nonfoil version of Hidden Strings still goes for less than 50 cents, but listings for the foil version have depleted to the point that the lowest listing at time of writing is $66.77. A handful of buyers have bit the bullet on the double-digit prices for this 13-year-old Common, presumably to bling out their Commander, Pioneer, or Pauper decks where Hidden Strings can combo off with Lotus Field or High Tide.
#3 Flash Photography (Borderless)
- Set: Commander: FINAL FANTASY
- Printing: Foil
- Increase: +$19.85
- Current Market Price: $31.13
Flash Photography has risen to become the most valuable of the borderless scene cards from the FINAL FANTASY Scene Boxes that released in December. While its overall play rate in Commander remains low, its supply is even lower, and the effect it grants is useful and flexible enough for it to warrant consideration in a wide variety of decks.
#2 Flash Photography (Borderless)
- Set: Commander: FINAL FANTASY
- Printing: Normal
- Increase: +$28.44
- Current Market Price: $40.16
Just like the foil version, the nonfoil version is up for this hard-to-find card that may never be reprinted due to the tricky licensing issues around Universes Beyond products.
#1 Firestorm
- Set: Weatherlight
- Increase: +$29.05
- Current Market Price: $43.44
Firestorm also saw an uptick in sales as more players discovered Premodern, where it sees play alongside discard enablers like Squee, Goblin Nabob and Krovikan Horror (which are also rising). For one mana, Firestorm can be a one-sided board wipe at instant speed if you have enough cards to trash.
Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $10.
Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards Over $20
- Set: Urza’s Saga
- Increase: +$74.80
- Current Market Price: $1,202.33
The Reserved List card Gaea’s Cradle never needs a reason to add a few percentage points of value. It had one this month however, as interest in Premodern has increased the demand for this powerhouse land, which remains unbanned.
#4 Mox Diamond
- Set: Stronghold
- Increase: +$76.38
- Current Market Price: $941.56
Another Reserved List card, Mox Diamond sees play in Premodern decks that run Armageddon for that old-school thrill of stopping your opponent from playing Magic.
#3 The One Ring (Borderless Poster)
- Set: Universes Beyond: The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth
- Printing: Foil
- Increase: +$83.54
- Current Market Price: $1,077.01
This card has been ticking up in price every month since the start of 2025, and it has no reason to stop now.
#2 Sol Ring
- Set: Masterpiece Series: Kaladesh Inventions
- Increase: +$98.81
- Current Market Price: $904.42
A pair of sales on March 21 marked the first time this card broke the $1,000 barrier. Now the lowest listing for an ungraded Near Mint copy is just below $1,700, so the card’s Market Price may have more correcting to do.
#1 Mox Diamond
- Set: From the Vault: Relics
- Increase: +$125.80
- Current Market Price: $1,158.57
While it doesn’t sport the classic card frame associated with Premodern, this version is still playable in the format. It was already rising before everyone started talking about Premodern, and the new attention just accelerated that trend.
