Magic: The Gathering’s newest set, Foundations, is now available to list on the TCGplayer Marketplace! This upcoming release is an all-encompassing collection of the best that Magic has to offer, appealing to both new players and seasoned veterans. Foundations will officially launch on November 15, 2024, just in time to make the most of holiday sales.

We’ll first cover the most frequently asked questions when it comes to listing on TCGplayer, then provide a full breakdown of what sellers can expect when it comes to this large release.

Q: Where can I find the exclusive cards such as Commander or Special Guest cards?

A: All exclusive cards in Foundations have unique set abbreviations and set symbols that distinguish them from the main set release:

Cards with the set abbreviation (FDN) are part of the main set release and can be found in the set Foundations. 

Cards with the set abbreviation (FDC) include both Commander exclusives and reprints, and are available in Commander: Foundations. 

Cards with the set abbreviation (SPG) are unique Special Guests reprints found in the Special Guests set.

Cards with the set abbreviation (J25) are also unique reprints found exclusively in the Foundations Jumpstart set.

Q: Why can’t I list the Buy-A-Box promo, Solemn Simulacrum (Extended Art)?

A: Due to concerns from sellers and Wizards of the Coast’s policy, this card will not be available to list until the start of release events (November 15, 2024).

Q: How can I tell if a card is a Variant Card in the Seller Portal?

A: All variant cards feature their Variant Type in parentheses after the card name. Examples of these will be (Borderless), (Showcase), (Fracture Foil), and (Extended Art). 

When exporting inventory and sorting by card number, all Variants will be in the set as follows:

• In the set Foundations, variants will be after card number 291. 
• In the set Foundations Jumpstart, variants will be between card numbers 30-80.
