Uncommonly Profitable: Valuable Commons and Uncommons From Universes Beyond Warhammer 40k
Drew KnappCracking open sealed product with the goal of making a profit can be questionable, but the potential treasures in some sealed Commander decks are becoming increasingly worth the attention. Among the sealed Commander product that is worth keeping an eye on (and potentially cracking open!), the most notable have to be the Universes Beyond: Warhammer 40,000 decks.
Interestingly, “rarity” is something of an illusion in these decks, as they contain singleton copies of every rarity—even a common is “technically” rare here, but that just means that you’ll find an even more impressive stack of commons and uncommons that are worth $1 or more! So many, that their value can add up much faster than those you would find in traditional packs.
Now, the most valuable of these are Surge foils, which are only found in the pricier Collector’s Edition versions of the decks, but that just means they are that much more likely to gain value over time—and that’s without even considering the potential problem of intellectual property rights inherent to Universes Beyond products as a whole. So, without even considering the shinier rarities, here are all the commons and uncommons from Universes Beyond: Warhammer that are worth a $1 or more (some substantially more than that!):

That’s an impressive amount of cardboard that you can potentially bank! Generally speaking, I don’t necessarily recommend picking up sealed product hoping to ultimately make a profit, but the fact that you can already break open these Commander decks for some value means these could very well be worth grabbing.
Anyone can sell these cards on TCGplayer. All you need to do is list your inventory! For your convenience, we’ve also included a downloadable CSV of the valuable commons and uncommons we’ve covered so far.
