We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Yu-Gi-Oh! cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price in the past 30 days.

(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least five sales between August 28 and September 26, 2024.)

Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price of $5 or less.

Top 5 Price Increases—YGO Cards $5 or Less

#5 Vanquish Soul Dr. Mad Love

  • Set: Wild Survivors
  • Increase: +$10.11
  • Current Market Price: $13.13

A few Vanquish Soul cards were reprinted in the 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Mirrors that released on September 20th, but those reprints did not include Vanquish Soul Dr. Mad Love. To capitalize on the players who might want to build VS after the Tin released, speculators bought a huge number of copies of Dr. Mad Love the week before on September 13th, spiking the number of copies per buyer up to 10.1.

Dr. Mad Love has only been printed once, in Wild Survivors (which released last year), so its supply was vulnerable to this buyout.

#4 Centur-Ion Auxila

  • Set: Legacy of Destruction
  • Increase: +$10.59
  • Current Market Price: $15.42

The Centur-Ion archetype is getting more support in Rage of the Abyss, which will release later this month on October 11. Centur-Ion Auxila only has two printings so far (both from Legacy of Destruction, released last April), and it’s a key part of the archetype’s combos, so its price has been sensitive to the demand from forward-thinking players.

#3 Jurrac Meteor

  • Set: Hidden Arsenal 4
  • Increase: +$11.00
  • Current Market Price: $11.32

Looking even further ahead, Terminal World 2 will release in Japan in November and deliver new support for the Fabled and Jurrac archetypes. Jurrac Meteor was last printed in 2011, and the Jurrac archetype has seen virtually no play for the last decade, so prices were at rock bottom before Terminal World 2 gave players a reason to care about these (metaphorical and literal) dinosaurs of Yu-Gi-Oh.

#2 Traptrix Rafflesia (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II
  • Increase: +$11.73
  • Current Market Price: $16.62

On September 3, speculators bought almost as many copies of this Quarter Century Secret Rare as were sold back when 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II first released on May 24, sending the number of copies per buyer spiking to 26.3 up from 1.0 the day before. This coupled with a pair of smaller buyouts before and after the 3rd caused the card’s price to spike past even its prerelease highs, though it has since started to drop again.

Traptrix Rafflesia has been printed 11 times, with the cheapest versions available for less than a nickel. The only reason for collectors to value this version so much higher is its exclusive foil treatment, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this price spike proves short-lived.

#1 Vanquish Soul Caesar Valius

  • Set: Wild Survivors
  • Increase: +$18.48
  • Current Market Price: $20.94

Just like Dr. Mad Love, Caesar Valius wasn’t included in the Vanquish Soul reprints in the 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Mirrors, so speculators bought a character select screen’s worth of copies on September 13 and 14. Sales remained high during and after the actual release of Dueling Mirrors, as players bought into Vanquish Soul. Of all the buyouts on this list, this one might end up having the biggest impact beyond just this month.

Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in the past 30 days after starting with a Market Price over $5.

Top 5 Price Increases—YGO Cards Over $5

#5 Orcust Harp Horror (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge
  • Increase: +$24.13
  • Current Market Price: $52.27

Players can pick up any of the the Non-Quarter Century Secret Rare versions of Orcust for less than $1, but this version’s sheer scarcity has been high enough to make it the most expensive Orcust card on the market. The recent price growth appears organic—there just aren’t enough low-cost copies to handle even the modest demand for this collectible. We might be able to attribute some of that demand to the fact that fan-favorite archetype Orcust will be getting new support in Japan with the arrival of the Quarter Century Trinity Box in December.

#4 Mermail Abyssteus (UTR)

  • Set: Cosmo Blazer
  • Increase: +$37.35
  • Current Market Price: $102.64

Mermail Abyssteus is another high-rarity collectible with much cheaper versions that’s been trending up recently through organic demand. Mermail fans are getting more support for their archetype in Rage of the Abyss on October 11, so this UTR may climb even higher in the next couple of weeks.

#3 Silhouhatte Rabbit (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: The Infinite Forbidden
  • Increase: +$42.80
  • Current Market Price: $123.08

Silhouhatte Rabbit is one of the strongest, most generically useful cards out of The Infinite Forbidden, so sales of the lower-rarity version of this card spiked after it dodged the the F&L update at the start of September. The total number of Quarter Century Secret Rare copies sold is pretty small (an average of 2 copies per day over the last 3 months), but fans who open this card aren’t selling it—they’re playing it in their decks so they don’t have to go and buy the $20 version. That’s kept supply low, so prices keep on rising.

#2 Diabellstar the Black Witch (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: Age of Overlord
  • Increase: +$58.94
  • Current Market Price:$148.89

Diabellstar managed to escape the F&L update at the start of September, so instead of getting banned out of competitive play, she’s only going to become stronger with the release of new Sinful Spoils cards in Raging Abyss on October 11. That’s helped this high-rarity version of the card rebound from the lows it reached when players thought this witch was soon for the stake. Her lower-rarity version hasn’t fared quite as well since the card was just reprinted in Dueling Mirrors.

#1 Dragon Master Magia (Quarter Century Secret Rare)

  • Set: Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge
  • Increase: +$135.27
  • Current Market Price: $805.00

Dragon Master Magia has once again claimed the top spot on this list, growing even more this month than it did in August. This card has only a single printing, at Quarter Century Secret Rare, meaning that players who want to summon Black Luster Soldier riding Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon have no other versions to turn to. With new Blue-Eyes support possibly on the horizon, in the form of a new Structure Deck, the sky’s the limit for Dragon Master Magia.
