Top Selling Sealed Product Right Now — 01/15/2025

Choosing which sealed products to invest in is an important decision for your business. The right products can yield big returns for your business in just a few transactions, but the wrong products can be a serious burden on your cash flow.

To help you pick the right products more often, we compiled a report of the top selling sealed products on TCGplayer last month. This report will show you which sets are most popular with players and collectors right now, so you can anticipate which products will be easy to sell online.

The report lists the top 100 sealed TCG products by total GMV between December 1 and 31, 2024. Below, we’ve highlighted five of those products. These products were chosen by starting from the top of the overall list and going down, taking the top product of each game that hadn’t been highlighted yet. The five products are ordered below according to their overall rank in the full report.

#1 Surging Sparks Booster Box

Game: Pokémon TCG.
Set: Surging Sparks.
Released: November 8, 2024.
Average Product Value: $204.58.

For the third month in a row, Surging Sparks takes the #1 spot on the list of top selling sealed products. The price of Booster Boxes continues to grow too, though the prices of singles from the set have calmed down a little as “just” four Surging Sparks cards currently clock in at over $100, compared to six cards last month.

We can attribute some of Surging Sparks’ success to timing. Not only did the biggest Pokémon set of 2024 release the same month as Cyber Weekend (which isn’t usually the case with Pokémon’s delayed schedule for international releases), but it also dropped a week after the release of Pokémon TCG Pocket reminded fans around the world that Pokémon cards are fun to collect and play with.

Throw in the most iconic headlining Pokémon you could as for and the most punishing pull rates of the year and you’ve got a blockbuster Pokémon set. Though as we’re about to see, its biggest competition is right around the corner.

#2 Terastal Fest ex Booster Box

Game: Pokémon Japan.
Set: Terastal Fest ex.
Released: December 6, 2024.
Average Product Value: $52.72.

Coming in just behind Surging Sparks Booster Boxes we have Booster Boxes for the most recent Japanese Pokémon set, Terastal Fest ex (also anglicized as Terastal Festival ex). Despite costing less than any other product highlighted in this article, Tera Festival ex Booster Boxes outsold every other sealed product released in December, which should give you an idea of how strong the demand is for this set.

Terastal Festival ex is both an end-of-year special reprint set in the vein of Crown Zenith and Paldean Fates, and the debut of new Special Illustration Rare versions for the entire Eevee evolution line, like Scarlet & Violet’s answer to Evolving Skies. Either selling point alone would have made Terastal Festival ex a strong follow-up to Super Electric Breaker. Together, they’re the recipe for a perfect storm on a scale we haven’t seen since 151.

That storm will make landfall later this week when Prismatic Evolutions, the English version of Terastal Festival ex, releases in North America. Prerelease hype (and prices) are through the roof, and The Pokémon Company International plans to ride the wave of enthusiasm with a staggered release of Prismatic Evolutions products that’ll last all the way into September.

It looks like we’ll be transitioning from the best Pokémon set of 2024 directly into the best Pokémon set of 2025.

#3 Emperors in the New World Booster Box

Game: One Piece Card Game.
Set: Emperors in the New World.
Released: December 13, 2024.
Average Product Value: $135.70.

Never to be outdone, the One Piece Card Game is back with yet another best-selling sealed product, this time for its latest set, Emperors in the New World. EitNW leans even harder into the alternate-art treatments that have made previous One Piece sets so beloved by collectors and valuable for retailers, with 4 Manga Rare cards instead of the usual 1, and the first-ever Gold Manga Rare card for the most influential character in the One Piece universe.

At time of writing, a staggering eight cards from this set have a Market Price over $100, and two have them have even broken into quadruple-digit territory. Fans know these boxes hold treasure inside, and they’re willing to pay what it takes to claim their share of the loot.

#4 Foundations Collector Booster Display

Game: Magic: The Gathering.
Set: Foundations.
Released: November 15, 2024.
Average Product Value: $343.87.

They may have slipped from the #2 spot, but Foundations Collector Booster Displays are still selling at an impressive pace, especially considering their Market Price recently broke $400—that’s $100 over what they cost during release weekend.

Magic’s new evergreen introductory set will be Standard-legal for at least the next five years, and with tons of new staples for every format (including Commander), it’s clearly meant to be the perfect follow-up product for new Magic fans who are brought in by Universes Beyond products, like the upcoming Final Fantasy and Spider-Man sets.

#5 Quarter Century Bonanza Booster Box

Game: Yu-Gi-Oh!
Set: Quarter Century Bonanza.
Released: November 8, 2024.
Average Product Value: $113.97

Back for a second month, the most recent Yu-Gi-Oh set rounds out our highlights for December. Quarter Century Bonanza was a reprint set strategically positioned for the holidays with high-rarity cards for players and collectors. With over 900 cards (counting all the different rarity printings), QCB is positively crammed with hits, which has helped it hold value even into the new year and the imminent arrival of Supreme Darkness.
