Local game stores and professional trading card game (TCG) sellers are the heart of our community. We have spent a lot of time visiting your stores, listening to your feedback, and understanding how we can help you succeed. Through this process, we uncovered your top needs for profitably selling large volumes of TCGs: 

  • Drive sales and bring you more buyers
  • Improve our digitization technology so you can identify, price, sort, and list large volumes of cards with ease
  • Refine our seller tools so you can manage and optimize your inventory
  • Save you time and money with low-cost, high-volume fulfillment solutions
  • Simplify your fee structure so you can calculate when and how you’re making money 

Our strategy is simple — double-down on our strengths to best meet your top needs. Meeting your needs is why we chose our five strategic priorities (below) and this is how we’re going to succeed on our quest to be the most trusted TCG platform in the market — connecting and empowering the hobby community.

Progress Against Our Strategy in 2024

We focused our business on this strategy in 2023 and started to make progress against these strategic priorities in 2024. 

We began with a focus on your number one need — driving sales. In 2024, within our Buyer Engagement initiatives, we delivered both year-over-year sales (GMV) and buyer growth through Q3 of 2024. We also added six new games to the platform, drove record breaking marketing promotions (Mayhem and Cyber Weekend), and improved personalized merchandising and search features. We also opened our content to a broader audience, which not only directly drove sales, but also helped the community engage with and learn more about the amazing games we support. 

We also made improvements in our Seller Experience with initiatives that enhanced our education capabilities, including through our Growth Acceleration Program (GAP), and improved self-service help blog and tools. We’re excited about the feedback mechanisms we created like our Customer Advisory Board (CAB), which helped test over 400 new capabilities like improving our new Scan and Identify feature. 

At the same time, we recognized that creating a stronger foundation and Scalable Infrastructure is critical to our ability to serve you. While we worked to increase our engineering delivery pace, we also spent time right-sizing our Fulfillment Solutions, working behind the scenes to fix our legacy solutions so we would be able to scale and support more sellers, games, and cards over the long-term. 

Most importantly, we continued to prioritize Trust — the foundation of our relationship with you and the buyers we collectively serve. Throughout 2024, we continuously invested in our seller protections, doubling the size of our fraud team, tightening up protection policies, and investing in technology to shore up our systems to protect you. 

The Road Ahead: Modernizing our Seller Tools and Capabilities

We know that to be your most trusted partner, we must streamline our legacy seller tools and build inventory management, fulfillment, in-store, and digitization solutions that better support you. We will continue to improve across all five of our strategic priorities, but over the next two years we will lean heavily into two primary goals: 

1. Inventory Management: Rebuilding and launching a scalable TCG-focused suite of inventory management tools for professional sellers.

Creating an easy to use, seamless suite of tools that allows you to easily identify, price, list, sort, store, sell, and ship large volumes of cards is our top priority over the next two years. This work includes rethinking our legacy inventory management tools and capabilities to better meet the needs of local game stores, including enhancements like integrated shipping and upgrading our point-of-sale offerings. 
 
Our goal is to fix, then scale all parts of inventory management to help you create the broadest most relevant inventory selection for buyers whether they shop in-store or online. With this renewed focus, we will pause new BinderPOS seller onboarding and sign-ups, effective immediately. However, we will continue to support current BinderPOS sellers while we work in parallel to fix our foundation and modernize our capabilities. 

2. Fulfillment: Improving our internal operations, processes and systems to grow our low-cost Fulfillment Solutions

We’ve already spent a lot of time working to evolve our fulfillment services, ensuring we allocate our resources effectively, and invest in programs that help you run your business better and more profitably. We are focused on continuing to enhance our operational capacity so we can introduce revamped and cost-effective fulfillment offerings such as Direct, Store Your Products and Sort, that allow you to focus on running your store while we handle your logistics and customer service needs. 

We recognize that the end of 2026 feels far away. However, rebuilding our full suite of high-volume tools will take time. Our goal is to roll out improvements as they become available, seeking your input and feedback whenever possible.

How we achieve these goals is equally important. Throughout this process, we will: 

  • Invest in resources to ensure we deliver our goals.
  • Simplify fees when we launch revamped services and tie these fees directly to the value they are providing you. We’ll be sure to get your perspective on any changes we’re thinking of making and also give you plenty of lead time prior to flowing changes through. 
  • Improve trust and listen to your feedback through engagement channels like our CAB.
  • Increase transparency through consistent communication to ensure you know where we are going and how your feedback is shaping our path 

Summary

These two goals will be our primary focus over the next two years, but we still have initiatives in place to continue to improve across all five of our strategic priorities. We are committed to continue driving marketplace growth and bringing you more buyers from around the world.
