The first step to serving customer demand is to understand it. So to help you follow what’s currently popular with players and collectors, we’ve put together a pair of downloadable CSV reports of the top-selling Yu-Gi-Oh! cards of the past month.

These reports show the name and set of the Yu-Gi-Oh! cards with the highest total number of copies sold on the TCGplayer Marketplace between August 1 and August 31. The reports consider cards from different sets to be distinct (even if they have the same name), but do not distinguish copies sold by condition (Near Mint, Lightly Played, etc.) or by printing (Foil, etc.).

The two reports cover cards that had an average sale price in August within two ranges: $50.00 or more, and $1.00 to $49.99.

Here are five highlights from each report.

Top Selling Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards: $50 or More

#1 Mulcharmy Purulia
Set: The Infinite Forbidden
Average Sale Price: $52.06

At the top of the list (and just barely over the $50 threshold) we have Mulcharmy Purulia, which just released in The Infinite Forbidden on July 19. When this card was revealed it immediately drew comparisons to Maxx “C”, the anti-Special Summoning hand trap that defines the formats in Japan and Master Duel. While Purulia hasn’t been quite that game-warping, it still sees play in almost every competitive Yu-Gi-Oh deck, and it’s only getting better with Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess being added to the Forbidden list.

#2 Fiendsmith Engraver
Set: The Infinite Forbidden
Average Sale Price: $102.71

Fiendsmith Engraver is the core card of the Fiendsmith archetype that was introduced in The Infinite Forbidden and quickly became part of the strongest deck in the format. The F&L update has hit that deck in several ways, including by forbidding Fiendsmith’s Lacrima, which indirectly nerfs the power of Engraver. Even so, Snake-Eyes Fiendsmith is expected to remain a big contender going forward, and it will still include Fiendsmith Engraver—just maybe fewer copies than it was running before. Other decks will continue to run it too.

#3 S:P Little Knight
Set: Age of Overlord
Average Sale Price: $59.61

S:P Little Knight continues to be a highly versatile answer that can fit into almost any deck, and the F&L update did nothing to change that. Keep in mind though that this card will be getting its first reprint in the Dueling Mirrors Tin later in September, so its price might not be this high next month.

#4 Dragon Master Magia (Quarter Century Secret Rare)
Set: Battles of Legend: Terminal Revenge
Average Sale Price: $236.52

This card’s “average sale price” is a bit deceptive. In English, its Market Price at time of writing is a staggering $736.97 due to it only being printed once, as a Quarter Century Secret Rare. But more than half of this card’s sales have gone to listings with photos of Japanese and Korean versions of the card, which depending on the printing can go for around $15.

Dragon Master Magia depicts Black Luster Soldier riding Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, a team-up that no current or former Yu-Gi-Oh fan can resist, so collectors are racing to pick up any version of the card they can. If that version happens to be in the source material’s language and cost a fraction as much as the English version, so much the better.

#5 Dragon of Pride and Soul (Quarter Century Secret Rare)
Set: The Infinite Forbidden
Average Sale Price: $58.82

Interest in this card has remained high after the reveal of an upcoming Japanese card called Dragon of Ultimate Pride and Soul. The new monster has enormous stats and splashy abilities, and the Dragon of (non-Ultimate) of Pride and Soul is expected to play a key role in helping players summon it.

Top Selling Yu-Gi-Oh! Cards: $1.00 to $49.99

#1 Sengenjin Wakes from a Millennium
Set: The Infinite Forbidden
Average Sale Price: $2.44

Like last month, most of the bestselling cards in this price range come from the new Exodia support that was introduced in The Infinite Forbidden.

Sengenjin Wakes from a Millennium searches up the #3 card in this section, which in turn searches up Millennium Ankh so you can summon…

#2 The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate
Set: The Infinite Forbidden
Average Sale Price: $2.50

The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate is the new boss monster for Exodia decks, capable of swinging for huge damage while also searching up powerful spell and trap cards like Obliterate!!! Blaze and Exxod Fires of Rage. Those cards also help you search out and return Forbidden One cards to your hand so you can summon Exodia the old-fashioned way as a backup plan.

#3 Shield of the Millennium Dynasty
Set: The Infinite Forbidden
Average Sale Price: $1.71

As mentioned earlier, Shield of the Millennium Dynasty grabs Millennium Ankh so you can use it to special summon The Unstoppable Exodia Incarnate. As such, it’s a key consistency piece for the new Exodia deck.

#4 Spell Card "Monster Reborn"
Set: The Infinite Forbidden
Average Sale Price: $1.09

Not to be confused with Monster Reborn, or with Monster Reborn Reborn, Spell Card “Monster Reborn” is another attempt to rebalance the iconic spell card (which arguably no longer needs rebalancing). Getting to reanimate a monster at Quick-Play speed makes up for the drawbacks compared to the original.

#5 Mimighoul Master
Set: The Infinite Forbidden
Average Sale Price: $2.28

Mimighoul Master is the key to the puzzle that is the Mimighoul archetype, which debuted in The Infinite Forbidden. Mimighoul monsters allow you to summon them face-down to your opponent’s field, and if they flip, they unleash all kinds of mayhem on your opponent before returning to your field. Mimighoul Master lets you trigger these flips as a Quick Effect to ensure your Mimighouls go off.

For now, Mimighoul is a fun rogue archetype, but it could become way more competitive depending on the support it receives in the final core booster set of 2024 Rage of the Abyss. Since Mimighoul is premiering in the TCG before the Japanese OCG, nobody’s sure what to expect, but the potential upside is high.
