The first step to serving customer demand is to understand it. So to help you follow what’s currently popular with players and collectors, we’ve put together a pair of downloadable CSV reports of the top-selling Magic: The Gathering cards of the past month.

These reports show the name and set of the Magic cards with the highest total number of copies sold on the TCGplayer Marketplace between June 1 and June 30. The reports consider cards from different sets to be distinct (even if they have the same name), but do not distinguish copies sold by condition (Near Mint, Lightly Played, etc.) or by printing (Foil, etc.).

The two reports cover cards that had an average sale price in June within two ranges: $50.00 or more, and $1.00 to $49.99.

Here are five highlights from each report.

Top Selling Magic Cards: $50 or More

#1
Ulamog, the Defiler
Set: Modern Horizons 3
Average Sale Price: $55.25

Ulamog was always going to be good enough for Commander, where the odds are high that Ulamog will exile something huge and enter the battlefield as a 15/15 with annihilator 8. But it’s also seeing play in the updated Through the Breach deck in Modern as a secondary target along with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn.

#2 Ugin’s Labyrinth (Borderless)
Set: Modern Horizons 3
Average Sale Price: $59.17

Commander players have been picking up the fancy version of Ugin’s Labyrinth to bedazzle their new Eldrazi decks led by Ulalek, Fused Atrocity, the most popular commander released with Modern Horizons 3.

#3 The One Ring (Borderless) (LTR Bundle)
Set: Unique and Miscellaneous Promos
Average Sale Price: $75.60

Modern and Commander players alike seek The One Ring, and this is currently the most plentiful and affordable printing on the market.

#4 Emrakul, the World Anew (Borderless)
Set: Unique and Miscellaneous Promos
Average Sale Price: $74.69

Like Ugin’s Labyrinth, Emrakul, the World Anew goes directly into the upgraded version of the Eldrazi Incursion preconstructed Commander deck led by Ulalek, Fused Atrocity. And as long as you’re paying for an eldritch abomination, you might as well get the prettiest one.

#5 Ulamog, the Defiler (Borderless)
Set: Modern Horizons 3
Average Sale Price: $110.61

With all the same play applications as the regular Ulamog we covered earlier, as well as fancy alternate art, Borderless Ulamog has secured its position as the most expensive card in Modern Horizons 3.

Top Selling Magic Cards: $1.00 to $49.99

#1 Sink into Stupor
Set: Modern Horizons 3
Average Sale Price: $4.42

Sink into Stupor is part of a cycle of modal double-faced cards (MDFCs) in Modern Horizons 3 that are broadly useful spells on one side, and on the other side are lands that can enter untapped if you pay 3 life. In Commander, 3 life is well worth the flexibility these cards provide, so these cards are practically mandatory upgrades for every deck that cares about its power level.

#2 Amped Raptor
Set: Modern Horizons 3
Average Sale Price: $1.36

The surge of energy-counter cards released in Modern Horizons 3 has created a new Modern archetype called Boros Energy, which just narrowly missed the Top 8 at the Pro Tour last weekend. Amped Raptor acts as one of the deck’s enablers and its chief payoff by letting you play a card from the top of your library using energy counters instead of mana.

#3 Fell the Profane
Set: Modern Horizons 3
Average Sale Price: $2.23

Fell the Profane is the black member of the same MDFC cycle as Sink into Stupor. With instant-speed removal on one side and a (potentially) untapped land on the other, any Commander deck that includes Swamps has to consider running this card from now on—and that’s a lot of decks.

#4 Urza’s Cave
Set: Modern Horizons 3
Average Sale Price: $3.35

Many Commander decks take advantage of all the nonbasic lands in the format, like Cabal Coffers, Rogue’s Passage, and Bojuka Bog. Urza’s Cave gives those decks a spell-free way to search up whatever land they want at instant speed, making it a new Commander staple.

#5 Vexing Bauble
Set: Modern Horizons 3
Average Sale Price: $3.83

“Free” spells are on the rise (just look at Amped Raptor), and players need an answer to them that can fit into any sideboard. Vexing Bauble is one possible answer.

Selling cards that have high “velocity” keeps your cash flow healthy so you can take advantage of new opportunities. Check out our reports on the top-selling cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon, and be sure to list these cards on TCGplayer to unlock value you can reinvest in your business.
