Direct by TCGplayer, Store Your Products, and Buylist

TCGplayer programs are evolving to better serve our sellers –– to save you more time and help you grow your business. To achieve this, we need to have updated and clear policies, providing transparent expectations. Programs like Direct and Store Your Products have grown significantly over the past few years, but they have lacked the effective policies needed for successful scaling. As a result, we’ve been evaluating our services to ensure we’re allocating our resources effectively, so that we can reduce wait times for shipments and processing, leading to a better seller experience. By updating our policies, we aim to ensure that every seller in our programs can succeed and participate in the most effective ways possible.

We know there have been many updates recently, so here is a breakdown of all the changes:

Direct by TCGplayer Policy Updates
Who Is Impacted: Sellers in Direct by TCGplayer
Effective Date: April 30, 2024
The Change:

  • New Accuracy Requirement for Reimbursement Invoices (RIs): All Direct sellers will be expected to maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 98%. For more information, see the Direct Seller Agreement.
  • Monthly Metrics Updates: We will begin providing monthly metrics updates, including accuracy rates, to help you monitor and improve your performance in the Direct program.
  • Compliance: Failure to meet the new accuracy requirement can result in warnings and eventual removal from the Direct program.

Store Your Products Policy Updates
Who Is Impacted: Sellers in Store Your Products
Effective Date: June 20, 2024
The Change:

  • Match Rate Requirement: 100% of a SYP shipment's contents must be cards that are listed in the SYP Pull Sheet. Products not listed on the SYP Pull Sheet will no longer be accepted.
  • Minimum Threshold Per Shipment: Shipments must meet a minimum value of $2,000 or contain at least 1,000 cards.
  • Return Request Limit: Sellers are limited to one SYP return request per quarter. Requesting a return of all inventory will result in removal from the SYP program.
  • Inactive Store Removal: Stores inactive for 90 days may be removed from the SYP program.
  • Shipment Restrictions: We reserve the right to restrict shipments as needed.
  • Shipping Time Frame: Shipments must be delivered to TCGplayer within 10 business days of SYP approval notice.
  • Packaging Guidelines: Shipments of 5,000 cards or less must be shipped in a single package.
  • Discrepancies: Going forward, discrepancies will not be adjusted and accepted. Any disparities between the SYP Pull Sheet and the actual contents of the shipment will be handled according to this policy.
  • Reapplication: If you are removed from the SYP program, you can reapply after 180 days.

Buylist Update
Who Is Impacted: Sellers in the Direct/Store Your Products Buylist
Effective Date: July 17, 2024
The Change:

  • Sunsetting Direct and SYP Buylist: On July 17, 2024, we will officially begin the process of sunsetting the Buylist program. As of this date, we will no longer accept Buylist listings for the TCGplayer Trade-In program associated with Direct by TCGplayer and Store Your Products. However, any active Buylists submitted prior to July 17, 2024, will still be allowed to move through the system. We understand the importance of completing ongoing transactions and assure you that they will be processed accordingly. Beginning on August 23, 2024, any remaining buylist inventory held at TCGplayer will be removed from inventory and returned to you. Please note, Buylist material can be requested for return at any time during the transition period from 7/17 to 8/23.
  • Ongoing Operations: Our Store Your Products fulfillment service will continue without interruption, and we are committed to enhancing the program further. Sunsetting the Direct/SYP Buylist will allow us to better focus on our other fulfillment programs, ultimately enhancing your overall experience.
