We have gone over some helpful tips for pricing cards, but what do you do with cards on the lower end of the price spectrum? An effective strategy is to list your entire inventory. Listing everything allows for an increase in orders and sales, and also lets you easily stay in tune with price spikes on lower end cards (looking at you Mishra’s Bauble). Already having them listed means it is just a matter of running your MassPrice rules to update the pricing. Adding these cards can be time consuming and making sure you get the most out of them can be tricky, so here are some ways you can succeed with selling inexpensive cards.

  1. Direct allows you to ship cards in one package instead of individual orders, while decreasing labor and shipping costs. Inexpensive cards are great additions for customers to add into their orders. This way you can focus your attention on your local customers, adding inventory, or marketing while simultaneously having orders rolling in.

  2. Bulk Lots allows you to sell a lot of cards at once to reduce shipping costs and increase overall profit margin, similar to Direct. Listing bulk lots lets you sell the lower price items while you are still listing them, and gives you some flexibility in the cards included. You don’t have to list out every card but instead mention the sets and rarities. You can then pull the inventory from your unsorted cards to be shipped when the order is placed.

  3. Channels is a feature of Pro that allows you to sell the cards to your local customers and not have them available on the TCGplayer marketplace. These are great impulse buys as people are browsing through the kiosk or your pro site. If a card should increase in value later, you can add it to your online inventory with ease.

It does take a little work to tap into the potential of inexpensive cards, but learning how to efficiently list and sell them can lead to a great source of additional revenue.
