We want you to have the best information available when you price cards on the TCGplayer Marketplace. So to help you get the most from your inventory, we’ve put together a downloadable CSV report of Magic: The Gathering cards that have dramatically increased in Market Price since the start of June 2024.

(Note: This report only considers Near Mint copies of cards with at least five sales between June 1 and June 12, 2024.)

Here are ten highlights from that report. First, we have the five cards that gained the most value in June 2024 after starting with a Market Price of $5 or less.

Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards $5 or Less

#5 Timber Protector (Borderless)

  • Set: Commander: The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth
  • Increase: +$2.49
  • Current Market Price: $6.87

The Tales of Middle-earth version of Timber Protector just happens to be the most affordable printing of this card, which combos nicely with Omo, Queen of Vesuva. Omo is the face of one of the new Commander precon decks that just released alongside Modern Horizons 3, and with Timber Protector in play, the “everything counters” Omo hands out also grant +1/+1 and indestructible.

#4 Outcaster Trailblazer (Extended Art)

  • Set: Outlaws of Thunder Junction
  • Increase: +$2.52
  • Current Market Price: $4.34

Outcaster Trailblazer has proven to be a multi-format all-star, winning multiple Pioneer Online Challenges and $5K events in Mono-Green Devotion shells, and making Top 8 at the DramHack Dallas Regional Championship on June 1 in a Gruul Ramp list.

#3 Red Elemental Blast

  • Set: Fourth Edition
  • Increase: +$2.95
  • Current Market Price: $4.87

The price of 4th Edition Red Elemental Blast has been unstable ever since a massive buyout on the card in late February. Currently the Revised Edition (3rd Edition) version of Red Elemental Blast is less expensive than this 4th Edition version.

#2 Flagstones of Trokair

  • Set: Ultimate Masters
  • Increase: +$3.17
  • Current Market Price: $5.78

There was a massive buyout of Flagstones of Trokair on May 12, the same day The Necrobloom from Modern Horizons 3 was leaked on Reddit, and the day after White Orchid Phantom was leaked. The buyout didn’t impact Flagstones’ Market Price, which remained around $2 until MH3 prerelease weekend, when several high-volume days in a row caused it to double. It’s honestly hard to tell whether more players are buying this card for Modern or Commander, but either way, MH3 has made Flagstones of Trokair much more valuable.

#1 Flagstones of Trokair

  • Set: Time Spiral: Remastered
  • Increase: +$7.40
  • Current Market Price: $9.90

There were more Near Mint copies of the Time Spiral: Remastered printing of Flagstones of Trokair than any other printing before the frenzy began, so this printing adjusted fastest to the new market reality.

Next, these are the five cards that gained the most value in May 2024 after starting with a Market Price over $5.

Top 5 Price Increases—MTG Cards Over $5

#5 Underground Sea

  • Set: 30th Anniversary Edition
  • Increase: +$19.77
  • Current Market Price: $310.79

Cards from the controversial and non-tournament legal 30th Anniversary Edition set sell slowly—so two sales of Underground Sea in early June have had an outsized impact on the card’s Market Price.

#4 Sea Kings’ Blessing

  • Set: Legends
  • Increase: +$22.40
  • Current Market Price: $31.35

This innocuous Uncommon was only printed once, back in 1994. It’s spiking now because its ability to target any number of creatures for one mana at instant speed is perfect for Commander decks led by Nadu, Winged Wisdom, a new legendary creature in Modern Horizons 3. With Nadu on the battlefield, every creature of yours you target with Sea Kings’ Blessing nets you another card in hand or a land in play.

#3 Eye of Ugin

  • Set: Modern Masters 2015
  • Increase: +$22.99
  • Current Market Price: $72.79

Eye of Ugin reduces the cost of colorless Eldrazi cards, and Modern Horizons 3 is lousy with Eldrazi.

#2 Sylvan Paradise

  • Set: Legends
  • Increase: +$24.65
  • Current Market Price: $39.80

Just like Sea Kings’ Blessing, Sylvan Paradise is in Nadu, Winged Wisdom’s colors and lets you target any number of your own creatures without harming them in any way—perfect for triggering Nadu’s ability for tons of ramp and draw.

#1 Gaea’s Cradle

  • Set: Urza’s Saga
  • Increase: +$49.55
  • Current Market Price: $751.92

The Market Price of Gaea’s Cradle has risen in the wake of our Mayhem promo on May 17th, which many buyers used as an opportunity to pick up high-value cards they’d been eyeing for a while.
