SYRACUSE, N.Y., August 23, 2021 – TCGplayer, the leading technology platform for the collectibles industry and operator of the largest online marketplace for trading card games, today announced that it has awarded a total of $75,000 to local game stores in partnership with Legend Story Studios, the creators of the Flesh and Blood TCG. This marks the successful completion of TCGplayer and Legend Story Studio’s first-ever direct-to-consumer campaign designed to benefit local game stores.
“At TCGplayer, we are always thinking about how to empower local game stores and ensure they have the resources and tools they need to run great local businesses. This is at the heart of what we do and why we were so excited to partner with Legend Story Studios on this unique campaign," said Chedy Hampson, Founder and CEO of TCGplayer. “Together, we demonstrated how easy it is to keep brick-and-mortar shops at the center of the gaming ecosystem, awarding $75,000 to participating local retailers and allowing fans to buy the Flesh and Blood products they desire at the best possible price. I look forward to working with our publisher partners to create more campaigns for the benefit of local game stores in the months to come.”
“I want to thank Chedy and the TCGplayer team for enabling us to expand our support of local game stores, who are at the heart of our mission to bring people together through the common language of playing great games,” said James White, Founder & CEO of Legend Story Studios. “We chose to partner with TCGplayer because they have always been great champions of local game stores with an unmatched ability to facilitate inventory management for sellers. With this campaign, TCGplayer has proven it can take this same approach to publishers, allowing us to connect with fans and retailers in an innovative and effective way. I am honored to award $75,000 to the local game stores who were part of this first campaign, and can’t wait to partner with TCGplayer again on future direct-to-consumer campaigns that directly benefit local game stores.”
As previously announced in March, Legend Story Studios released a limited-supply of first-edition Flesh and Blood: Monarch booster bundles exclusively on the TCGplayer marketplace. In connection with the campaign, TCGplayer managed all marketing efforts on behalf of Legend Story Studios, and facilitated the listing, fulfillment, shipping and customer service for the exclusive limited-release, guaranteeing local game stores were directly connected to each sale.
