TCGplayer and Legend Story Studios Award $100,000 to Local Hobby Stores in Latest Direct-to-Consumer Campaign

SYRACUSE, N.Y., March 7, 2022 – TCGplayer, the leading technology platform for the collectibles industry and operator of the largest online marketplace for trading card games, today announced that it awarded a total of $100,000 to local hobby stores in partnership with Legend Story Studios, the creators of the Flesh and Blood TCG. This marks the successful completion of TCGplayer and Legend Story Studio’s latest Everfest themed direct-to-consumer (“D2C”) campaign created for the benefit of local hobby stores.

“Our partnership with James and the team at Legend Story Studios is truly unique. Together, we’ve developed a series of direct-to-consumer campaigns that keep our local hobby stores at the heart of our community, creating a shining example of how all D2C campaigns should be run,” said Chedy Hampson, Founder and CEO of TCGplayer. “As a result, we’ve awarded $275,000 to retailers to date — advancing our commitment to empowering brick-and-mortar stores and ensuring alignment between publishers and retailers in the process. I look forward to building on this success and deepening our partnership with Legend Story Studios to bring more innovative campaigns to the Marketplace in the months to come.”

“The direct-to-consumer campaigns we’ve created as a result of our partnership with TCGplayer have been a tremendous success,” said James White, founder & CEO of Legend Story Studios. “As our creative partnership has deepened, we’ve leveraged TCGplayer’s scale to connect with even more Flesh and Blood fans in an innovative and effective way. Most importantly, we did this while supporting local game stores — the primary place we see our company mission in action. I’m confident that as we continue to grow our partnership with TCGplayer, we will find creative ways to keep local game stores at the heart of the industry.”

As previously announced in February, TCGplayer and Legend Story Studios developed the TCGplayer Tales of Everfest Collector’s Bundle, which included first-edition, limited edition and exclusive Flesh and Blood products available only on the TCGplayer Marketplace. In connection with the campaign, TCGplayer facilitated the bundle’s marketing, listing, fulfillment, shipping and customer service on behalf of Legend Story Studios, guaranteeing local hobby stores remained connected to each bundle sale.
