SYRACUSE, N.Y., February 1, 2022 – TCGplayer, the leading technology platform for the collectibles industry and operator of the largest online marketplace for trading card games, today announced a new direct-to-consumer (D2C) campaign with Legend Story Studios — the creators of the Flesh and Blood TCG — designed to benefit local hobby stores. In connection with this campaign, Legend Story Studios has released a limited-supply of first-edition, exclusive and sustainably packaged Flesh and Blood products on the TCGplayer Marketplace.
Consistent with previous D2C campaigns run by TCGplayer and Legend Story Studios, each product sale will be credited to a participating local hobby store. TCGplayer will manage all marketing efforts on behalf of Legend Story Studios, in addition to facilitating the listing, fulfillment, shipping and customer service for this exclusive limited-release.
“We are thrilled to embark on another D2C campaign that keeps local hobby stores connected to product sales while delivering exclusive products and exceptional service to hobbyists around the country,” said Chedy Hampson, Founder and CEO of TCGplayer. “This campaign is the direct result of our strong partnership with James and the team at Legend Story Studios, which has delivered $175,000 to retailers to date. To commemorate Legend Story Studio’s commitment to eco-friendly packaging, TCGplayer will be packaging each Everfest bundle with sustainability in mind, utilizing recycled content so that all materials are reusable, recyclable, biodegradable or compostable. I look forward to building on this unique partnership and creating new opportunities to deliver even more value to our brick-and-mortar store partners.”
“Since we launched Flesh and Blood almost three years ago, TCGplayer has been an incredible partner, making it easy to advance our mission, to bring people together in the flesh and blood through the common language of playing great games, and creatively work together on initiatives that support local game stores, which is the primary place we see our mission in action,” said James White, Founder and CEO of Legend Story Studios. “With the Everfest campaign, we once again bring something revolutionary to the TCGplayer Marketplace, embarking on a D2C campaign that directly benefits local game stores while also shining a spotlight on the industry’s first product with fully recyclable paper booster wrappers! Chedy and his team have always been great champions of retailers and innovation, and I’m confident that as we continue to grow our partnership, we will find creative ways to ensure that local game stores remain at the center of the gaming industry.”
As part of the D2C campaign, TCGplayer and Legend Story Studios have created the TCGplayer Everfest Collector’s Bundle, which includes two first-edition booster boxes, a limited edition playmat, collector’s certificate and bundle set checklist — exclusive to TCGplayer. In celebration of the Everfest collection’s commitment to fully recyclable paper booster wrappers, TCGplayer has sustainably packaged each Everfest Collector’s Bundle, ensuring that all materials are reusable, recyclable, biodegradable or compostable. The bundle will be available for sale on the TCGplayer Marketplace today at 12:00 pm ET, ahead of the official set launch later this week.
