As 2022 draws to a close, we’d like to take a moment to look back at some of this year’s milestones when it comes to our TCGplayer catalog. We’ll cover some of the best-selling products for each of our top 10 card games, as well as recap some of the new product lines we’ve introduced and will expand in the coming year.


2022 was a big year for a number of our top selling product lines! Here are some of the standout best-sellers for each of our card games, now available on the TCGplayer Marketplace. If you have any of these in your inventory, consider listing them to increase sales, as hobbyists are quick to add these to their cart.

 

  1. Magic: The Gathering - Double Masters 2022 - Draft Booster Box
    The Double Masters series highly-anticipated return carries additional rares and features reprints of player favorites, including Wrenn and Six in three different foiling types, such as the valuable textured foil.

  2. Yu-Gi-Oh! - Ghosts From the Past: The 2nd Haunting Display [1st Edition]
    This set, the second part in the Ghosts From the Past release series, increased not only the amount of Ghost Rares included in the card list, but also the rate at which players can pull the high-rarity cards from this all foil, all favorites set!

  3. Pokémon - Brilliant Stars Booster Box
    This popular release, Pokémon’s final booster entry for the Sword and Shield TCG series, introduced players to VSTAR cards, and includes a Trainer Gallery subset with stunning Full Art reprints.

  4. Digimon Card Game - Classic Collection Booster Box
    This collectible set, the first expansion release for the Digimon Card Game in English, features exclusive Alternate Art images of popular Digimon cards in the Classic illustration style of the official Digimon Encyclopedia database!

  5. Flesh and Blood TCG - Everfest Booster Box [1st Edition]
    Step right up for the first card game product to emphasize sustainability with recyclable paper booster packs! This booster also boasts incredible artwork, including the cold foil Majestic card Bravo, Star of the Show!

  6. Dragon Ball Super CCG - Realm of the Gods Booster Box
    Players can awaken the power of the gods with this final booster release for Dragon Ball Super CCG’s Unison Warrior series! This booster focuses on incredibly powerful Angels of the Universe cards, and each box comes with one random SR or SPR card.

  7. Cardfight!! Vanguard - Mirei Minae -Sealed Blaze Maiden- Starter Deck
    This starter deck introduces a new mechanic for the Dragon Empire nation, as nine new exclusive starter deck cards! It stars Sealed Blaze Maiden, Bavsargra as the face of the deck.

  8. Weiss Schwarz - hololive production Booster Box
    Perhaps one of the most ambitious Weiss Schwarz releases to date with up to 800 card singles, this booster introduces the hololive production Vtuber collection. Players have a chance to find a rare hot-stamped, autographed SSP card in every booster pack! 

  9. MetaZoo TCG - Wilderness: First Edition Booster Box
    This was MetaZoo’s most anticipated set to date, given the increased success of this relatively new product line. Each box contains 36 First Edition packs and highlights the new highly-collectible chibi cryptid cards!

  10. Final Fantasy TCG - Anniversary Collection Set 2022 Box
    Final Fantasy’s first-ever collection set includes a total of 200 player-favorite cards with commemorative new artwork, as well as a special “Anniversary” promo card. The outer box in the packaging also doubles as a collectible storage box for players.

 

Perhaps the most standout success this year on TCGplayer was the overwhelming popularity of One Piece Card Game. Despite the game being relatively new to TCGplayer, it has already amassed a large following online and a growing community of players. 

With the most recent release of its first main booster set, Romance Dawn, One Piece Card Game has reached sales success comparable to the other established BANDAI product lines on the Marketplace, namely Digimon Card Game and Dragon Ball Super Card Game.

The next main booster release for One Piece Card Game, Paramount War, has a street launch date for March 10, 2023. The sealed products are now available on Marketplace for presale, so consider listing ahead of time to increase your sales!

 

 

TCGplayer not only expanded their selection of trading card games to include new up-and-coming games this year: we also reached our goal of incorporating comic books into our Marketplace! 

At this time, there are nearly 178,000 comics spanning both the Marvel and DC Universe. While we’ve started out with mainly single issue comics, we are looking forward to seeing the catalog grow during 2023, with even more comic book publishers and printings for sellers to list!
