Comic books are now available for purchase on the TCGplayer Marketplace! Here’s information on how to ship your comic books:

Set Your Shipping Rates
Adjust your Shipping Settings. TCGplayer has standardized shipping rates based on the following four product sizes: Small, Medium, Large and Extra Large.

  • For small packages, the acceptable shipping range is $0 to $4.99
  • For medium packages, the acceptable shipping range is $0 to $9.99*
  • For large packages, the acceptable shipping range is $0 to $14.99*
  • For extra large packages, the acceptable shipping range is $0 to $24.99

*Single issue comics are considered a medium sized product and trade paperbacks are large. See here for more information on shipping rates.

Here’s an example of how you can price your items:

A seller, Ross, sets their shipping for medium sized products to $4.99. Ross lists two items for sale:

  1. Spiderman #47 for $25.99
  2. Spiderman #48 for $14.99

Ross, being an experienced online seller, has included in his product price an additional $0.40. This increase is high enough to insulate him from the additional costs that come with shipping larger order sizes while also keeping the overall price low enough for him to appear at the top of the price table on the Marketplace.

Sarah, a comic enthusiast, views the Product Details Page for Spiderman #47 and sees Ross’s listing: $25.99 for the product and $4.99 for shipping. Sarah adds this to her cart.

She then browses the Product Details Page for Spiderman #48 and sees that Ross is also selling this item. Since she already has a product in her cart from this seller, she now sees on the listing: $14.99 for this product, but this time it says “Shipping: Included.” She adds this to her cart as well.

When Sarah navigates to her cart she will see a single package for 2 comics with a shipping fee of $4.99.

Shipping Materials Options for Preparing Shipment

Prepare Package For Shipping
Here are some best practices to ensure your package arrives safely and in the correct condition:

  1. Place your comic in a bag and board your comic to help prevent bending in transit.
  2. Place your comic in between two pieces of cardboard that extend beyond the edges of the comic or place it between mailer filler pads. (Note: If you’re shipping a large amount of comic books, or high value comic books, box mailers are the best shipping materials in terms of protection. However, this method is more expensive. If you choose the box mailer route, you can skip to step 6.)
  3. Adhere the bagged comic to the cardboard with painter’s tape. (Note: never use tape with a strong adhesive to secure your comic to the cardboard. Additionally, it’s always best to tab the tape for easy removal.)
  4. Tape all four sides of the top piece of cardboard to the bottom piece of cardboard to secure the comic in between. (Note: if you’re packing multiple comic books, alternate how they are stacked so all of the spines do not align.
  5. Place your comic in a padded envelope for additional protection
  6. Place your comic in a shipping box or box mailer and address the package.
