TCGplayer.com Unleashes Unlimited Time Off Program for Its Employees

Syracuse, NY — October 4, 2017 — TCGplayer.com today launched an Unlimited Personal Time Off (PTO) program for its employees, joining the ranks of tech giants like Netflix, LinkedIn and Hubspot. Less than 2% of companies in the U.S. offer similar time off programs for their employees, and TCGplayer is among the first in the Central New York region to implement this type of progressive policy.

Instead of being allotted a set bank of vacation days, all full-time employees, including hourly and salaried staff, can request as much time off as they need each year. This is designed to give employees more flexibility and ensure they’re taking the time off they need to relax and recharge. In fact, the policy includes a mandatory minimum number of days that employees have to take each year, during which they’re encouraged not to check their email or complete work.

“We believe that time off should be flexible,” said Chedy Hampson, Founder and CEO of TCGplayer.com. “Life isn’t predictable, so a set bucket of time just doesn’t work. Someone may need more time one year and less the next. We trust our employees and are willing to work with them to find a balance between their work life and personal life, and we don’t want to hold someone back from experiences outside of their job.”

TCGplayer is no stranger to progressive policies. In addition to this new program, all TCGplayer employees are granted stock options—from those in entry-level positions to those in customer service, development and finance positions. All benefits begin on day one of an employee joining TCGplayer, unlike most companies that make employees wait a set number of days for their benefits to kick in.
