TCGplayer’s Statement on Anti-Asian Violence

Last summer TCGplayer openly committed to resisting racism in all its forms as we publicly affirmed and stated that Black Lives Matter. In our commitment to being an anti-racist company, we condemn the acts of violence against Asian American and Pacific Islander communities that have been steadily rising in the past year.

We are deeply saddened by the murders of the six women Soon Chung Park, Hyun Jung Grant, Suncha Kim, Yong Ae Yue, Xiaojie Tan, and Daoyou Feng in Atlanta, Georgia. Violence against Asian women made up 68% of the rise in attacks over the last year. Asian Americans have been on the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic in medical professions and have been the target of xenophobia and racist violent attacks.

At TCGplayer, we recognize that games bring people of all backgrounds together and many of the games we hold dear are rooted in Asian culture and heritage. We celebrate the diversity of our gaming community and reaffirm our commitment to be a beacon against racism in all its forms.

We are sharing resources from the advocacy organization, Stop AAPI Hate, for more ways you can get involved including learning safety tips, reporting incidents and more reading resources.
